Bogut to Warriors/Ellis to Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks have traded Bogut and forward Stephen Jackson to the Golden State Warriors for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown, sources confirmed to ESPN.com.

Probably a very fair trade for both teams. Milwaukee may have gotten more than expected, they didn't take back a big contract like Biedrins. Both teams need to make changes, and they did.

For me, Milwaukee are the winners here.... They managed to add Ellis who is a proven scorer and Udoh who has great potential and all they gave up in return were two players who are not even playing at the moment.

Even if the trade doesnt work for Milwaukee, they could just return to their current rotation.

That's true that does make it sound like a good deal, I'm just a bit sus on the Jennings/Ellis combo, and what makes Milwaukee think they can make that work better then curry/Ellis. Maybe Jennings is on the move too though? I've heard rumours and we all know his walking when his contract expires

Depends on how you look at it. Long term or short term. In the short term Milwaukee are obviously the winners given Bogut's current injuries, and Milwaukee only lose two players who were not even in their regular rotation at this time, whilst adding a starter at SG and good bench depth in Udoh and Brown (tongue in cheek).
But long term I think (presuming health of Bogut and Curry for that matter) that GSW did better out of this as they gained the quality centre they so desperately required, with a front court of Bogut and Lee sounding pretty good.
Meanwhile, in Milwaukee, I just dont see how a backcourt of Jennings and Ellis can work on any level. There is only one ball and guys in the front court are going to really question their roles when they see less and less of the ball as Jennings and Ellis have scoring competitions with each other on a nightly basis.

Well from what I have read, looks like Jennings has accepted the fact that he will be moved. Likely destinations imo would be the Lakers, Magic (looking for a supporting crew to hold onto Dwight), Blazers or Wolves (in need of another pg after Rubio going down).

I think the biggest impact will be on the Magic's chances of keeping Dwight. Ellis was rumoured to be one of the players that if they signed, would keep him there.

Will be interesting to see if these trades lead to other major trades.

As much as i like Monta, he is pretty one dimensional like Carmello. They just take so many damn shots and yet they still have a "scorer" status. How the heck big head Monta and big head Jennings could be in the same team is beyond me. Yikes its gonna be either brick city or the whitehouse.

Man, what are the Bucks thinking? A center is so hard to come by in todays game, so they trade away there's, to get a scorer, when they already had one? And also the Warriors should of traded Curry insted, why trade Ellis, one of the best scores, when Curry holds trade value and has injury problems with his ankle.

I'm happy with this trade. Wouldn't be surprised if Bogut stays only a year or two before moving to one of the big 4 teams. Now I have to collect gs bogut patches and autos :)

I think it helps both teams..... the Bucks can at least to attempt to have a full team again without wondering "when is Bogut coming back" all the time. I also think the backcourt isn't all that bad, Jennings doesn't have to be a scorer, he is more than willing passer IMO.

I wouldn't call Monta one-dimensional.....he has stats of 21.9ppg / 6.0apg / 3.4rpg / 1.5spg

Yes they are hard to come by, but when you can't keep them on the court!?

I was getting at his total lack of defense, I havent seen many players with such apathy towards defense ever get a ring.

Oh well then fair enough. But when I think about one dimensional players I think of players like Nick Young and Kevin Martin.

All about health. Bogut and Curry IF healthy will be a formidable duo. Curry is close to being an All-Star (needs to tweak a few things and stay consistent) and Bogut as well all know when healthy is worthy of All-NBA consideration.

Pretty big "if" though when your two best players, one has a crook arm and the other jelly ankles.
