Bittersweet Mailday

As the title suggests, this mailday is bittersweet because it gives me flashbacks from 1999.

It was the Knicks 1999 season which took many by surprise and the last time they would appear in the Finals, It was also the last time the NBA went into labor disputes which led to a lockout. The season was cut short and the New York Knicks only just made it into the playoffs as the 8th seed and faced an impossible task against the 1st seed Miami Heat in round one.

The Knicks silenced all critics with an unconventional lineup that went on to defeat 1st seed Miami, 4th seed Atlanta and 2nd seed Indiana, they also became the first 8th seed team in NBA history to play in the Finals. Ewing was out for the remainder of the playoff series after game 2 against Indiana but the Knicks pushed on to the Finals without him but would eventually fall short in the Finals against the Twin Towers Duncan & Robinson.

It would've been amazing to witness these two battle it out in the 1999 Finals like Hakeem vs Ewing in the 1994 Finals and it would've been a seven game series like 1994, this is why this mailday is bittersweet.

That's not a card, that's a a friggin coffee table book! No toploader game enough to hold that bad boy! Awesome bit of Ewing and Admiral - like the fact they got each team's 3 primary colours in the patches.
