Just wondering what is the best way to keep your autos in your pc?
I have some of mine in penny sleeves and toploaders but at times I get in a state of mind where I worry that the sleeve may do some damage somehow..? I have others in magnetic one touch holders and assume that this is probably the best option?
I wanted to know what you guys think is best and if you have any stories to suggest which of the above is better.
The problems with cards and autos arise when you have moist air. I STRONGLY recomend one of the cheap packs from the supermarket that draw moisture out of the air. They are easy to refil and cheap. Better to have all bases covered. ;-)
Hey Chad, I took your advice from a past post and I now have containers of Damp Rid in a couple of rooms around the house. Thanks I guess I'm doing alright then.
I'd suggest Team Bagging your holders too. Prevents them from being scratched, and again, helps as another deterant for moisture.
One thing to note, when putting cards in holders (1 touches, screw downs, etc), is that you make sure there's not moisture already in, or on your hands/cards/holders. Could cause card surfaces to stick to their holders.
I once read someone had an MJ Rookie who had it in a screwdown for years, and took to a show to get Raw Graded, opened the screwdown, and ripped the card surfaces apart!!!!!!
I use team bags on all my PC stuff now, but never gave a thought about those moisture thingy's!
I just had x10 packs of team bags come in aswell if anyone needs a pack?
Not sure about the card sleeves, but I remmber that when I collected comics way back when it was improtant to change comic book bags every few years because the plastic could eat away at the pages! I'm pretty sure they changed this for comic books now, but mine have been in slip cases for ages and they have no damage.
