Any tennis fans here?

Just curious who you would choose to be the best of all time, Tennis player?

With Federer just winning the French to add to the other 4 majors under his blet, he would be there at or neat the top.

But how about guys like Sampras who held the top spot for such a long time, Ivan Lendl......Stefan Edberg.....John McEnroe (opps talking about tennis talent not showmanship)......Bjorn Borg.........Arthur Ashe.......then there was Rod Laver (who I thin kwon the big matches to then not be allowed to play ecause of his pro status, then allowed back a few years later to win it all again).

My preference is for Federer.....just cos he is THE GUY now, but what do others think?

I tstill remember the cow he was given by the Swiss govt for winning his first major.

For me the top three are (in no particular order): Sampras, Laver and Federer. If Fed was to beat a healthy Nadal in another major final he would probably be my number one. But as always it pretty difficult to compare across eras.

hmmm
the Fed id say
i used to like conners and lendl
sampras and aggassi were up there

fav male player: conners
best: fed
fav female: steffie
best: serina

probably have to go with the fed, but if nadal can become as good as he is on clay on the hardcourts he will win more GS than roger

I don't know a whole lot about the history of tennis.

But for as long as I've been alive, these are the greats I consider the best (of my era):

Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Rafael Nadal.

Tennis is one of those sports that makes it difficult to sort out who is the best ever, which all the changes over the years.

If i was forced to choose, it would have to be Laver. You dont complete 2 Grand Slams and 7 years apart without being a great player. Also won it as an amateur and a professional.

Federer, Sampras, Agassi would be very close as well. They all had much tougher opposition in this era.

id go with samprass. he just seemed to have alot more high quality oppisition.

these days its a 3 horse race really

dont know much about earlier than that so wont comment

Anna Kournikova and Maria Sharapova, hands down.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: gold!

Can only comment from what I've seen in my lifetime

Federer
Sampras
Agassi - oh wait, was he juiced?
Nadal has potential for one of the all time greats but I think it will be Federer in his way much like people in the NBA when Jordan dominated so they couldn't win any titles.

I always thought Marat Safin was gonna be better, may have lost interest, injuries not sure.

Loved watching that little energizer bunny Michael Chang, entertaining!

Roddick may have been great if he wasn't such a nutcase that blows a fuse everygame and skitzes on poor linespeople and officials!

Hewitt may never get back to his peak, since he found Bec :woot::kick:

fed express and pistol pete are the top imo....safin was my fav player and i beleive was as good but rarely showed it...best match i ever seen was the 2005 oz open semi between federer and safin:v:
