Hi everyone, I have some cards I would like to send to Beckett for grading. I know how to package up the cards, & I know where to post them. My questions are..............................

- Does everyone recommend BGS as the type of grade?
- How do they accept payment from Australia? Visa? Paypal?
- When do you have to pay?
- Will Beckett grade cards posted from Australia & post them back?
- Alternatively, has anyone on this site used PSA for grading?

I was hoping a few of you on here may have experience in this area & would be able to give me any tips?

Thankyou!! :v:

graham(hill33) is the man to talk to regarding psa grading i had some jordan done by psa a while back, very happy with them!

as for bgs theres a few guys here that use them!

so yeah grahams worth talking to!

hope that helps

cheers

I'll give these a crack.

- Does everyone recommend BGS as the type of grade?

Not everyone, but some people like doing it. It's really a matter of personal taste. I used to submit to BGS, but stopped. Oh, and the fact that chadjaja sent one of his cards to BGS for grading and had it bent in half while it was away, that kind of helps my decision making process easier :)

- How do they accept payment from Australia? Visa? Paypal?

PSA take Credit Card. I havent actually tried any other payment method. Definately not PayPal. Check with your bank re the conversion fees as some banks charge a few % for charging your card in US $.

- When do you have to pay?

PSA charge your card when they log it in, so even if you send it on the 45 day special, you still get charged on Day 1. Not sure on BGS.

- Will Beckett grade cards posted from Australia & post them back?

Yes, but they never used to. Only in hte last few years have they changed it that they ship back direct to Australia. It's not cheap though for any of the grading companies. PSA I know uses USPS registered with tracking so you can see on the website exactly where your package is.

- Alternatively, has anyone on this site used PSA for grading?

Yes - often. I occasionally do group submissions to PSA, and might be doing another one soon. I can let you know when it happens if you like ?

Have a read of those other threads - covers more info than i've gone into here. If you have any more questions, feel free to post em here.

hill33, lmk when you're doing PSA :D I would really appreciate getting a few cards there too.

I just used BGS because I like their slabs. Haha!

BGS like all graders list how they want cards sent and you are wasting their time and costing yourself more postage if you send in one touch holders. Card savers packed correctly are the go. Not even toploaders.

Never felt comfortable putting the cards in the card savers (feels like damaging the card especially for thicker cards)

I would also like to send some of my cards to Beckett for grading but require some assistance. If anyone would be kind enough to help, please let me know.
