Hi guys im looking at buying a basketball system and want something like this

Spalding InGround Basketball System 88880G 72" Glass | eBay

the only thing is i cant find any in australia? they are all overseas and dont ship to oz, any one know where or how i could get one of these, thanks guys

Im after an in ground one not portable coz i like hanging from the ring when i dunk and im over 100kg id destroy that portable system

i dont think it will matter. shaq destroyed in door rings like that and those were made to a higher standard of quality.

Haha..... I'd be careful when buying then; a lot of rings say you shouldn't hang from the rim or you'll break it.

Only thing I don't like about that system is the hoop.
It is not springloaded and the net hooks are too exposed, having carved my fingers up on those exposed hooks several times.
For that sort of money you need a good rim !!!

I wouldnt hang from any of those systems mate especially if you are 100kg+. If you have some slight building skills you could build one. Concrete a solid timber or steel post into the ground and then fix a backboard and ring to it. It will be much stronger that way

yeah thats what they all say, you gotta hang sometimes though it just feels better to hang

True but they were the old school ones, now they got the air suspension systems.

I think its meant to be the same ring as the nba use, yeah I agree for that kind of money youd want a good rim.

yeah thats what they all say, you gotta hang sometimes though it just feels better to hang

It really depends where the pressure is applied when you hang on the rim.... the reason the backboards in the NBA don't break now is because the pressure isn't applied to the backboard.

Hi Veny, did you end up getting the basketball system from the US? It's similiar to the one I'm looking for, just can't find it anywhere and contacted the NBA store and they said they won't ship outside of US etc. Love to hear how you went!
