The 03-04 Pistons did cross my mind as I knew they were big underdogs to the Lakers in that Finals, but I thought they still had a much better regular season than 54 wins.

I was thinking a bit about this, but from a career perspective in relation to LeBron James as he keeps on moving up the all-time stat lists.

How does he rank all-time in each of the "big five" box score stats and how balanced is he across the board. This obviously can't take into account players from before steals and blocks were recorded unfortunately.

I looked at all-time rankings and then simply added up the ranks to get a single number using all five stats and also a minus-1 (four stats) since being high in the all-time ranks in all five is pretty freakin' hard!

So for LeBron (and he can obviously move up ranks in these still.)

James PTS 1st REB 26th AST 4th STL 6th BLK 75 5-cat total = 112 4-cat total = 37

Pretty amazing his is inside the top 75 in all five and the top six in three!

Olajuwon always was the gold standard in this for many years finishing his career in the top 10 in PTS, REB, STL and BLK though obviously can not match James in AST and he has been surpassed by a few modern players in some categories now.

Olajuwon PTS 14th REB 14th AST 227th STL 10th BLK 1st 5-cat total = 266 4-cat total = 39

I played around with a few other names to see who else would be high up. This one is for @GarnettFan4Life — it didn't surprised me he was high in all five stats but it did surprised me a little his worst category (assists) was higher ranked than James worst (blocks) and he isn't far behind James in the five-category total.

Garnett PTS 20th REB 9th AST 56th STL 19th BLK 18th 5-cat total = 122 4-cat total = 66

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is impressive when you consider that his STL and BLK totals don't include the first four years of his career, where I imagine he certainly put up some impressive BLK numbers.

Abdul-Jabbar PTS 2nd REB 3rd AST 50th STL 111th BLK 3rd 5-cat total = 169 4-cat total = 58

Others deserving mention, especially on the four-category calculation

Karl Malone PTS 3rd REB 7th AST 62nd STL 12th BLK 72nd 5-cat total = 156 4-cat total = 84
Westbrook PTS 21st REB 67th AST 9th STL 17th BLK 250+ 5-cat total = N/A 4-cat total = 114

I used strictly NBA numbers for this, though there are a couple of guys who bump up with some ABA love. Erving's numbers are ABA and NBA combined as he played a lot in both leagues and his NBA-only ranks are not impressive. Moses Malones gets two sets, since he only had a couple of ABA seasons.

Erving PTS 9th REB 38th AST 67th STL 9th BLK 24th 5-cat total = 147 4-cat total = 80
Moses NBA PTS 11th REB 5th AST 250+ STL 140th BLK 29th 5-cat total = N/A 4-cat total = 185
Moses both PTS 10th REB 3rd AST 250+ STL 103rd BLK 26th 5-cat total = N/A 4-cat total = 142

Now, I guess the obvious question is where is Michael Jordan? Unfortunately given an almost fully missed season due to injury and four more with retirements his totals are not so gaudy.

Jordan PTS 5th REB 140th AST 52nd STL 4th BLK 126th 5-cat total = 313 4-cat total = 187

So what does it all mean? Absolutely nothing, but was an amusing exercise for me.
