As per title at this stage heading over there in may for a week or so, off to flight centre tomorrow to finalise everything. Any recommendations ? My only input was to tell the missus i want to go to cu chi to fire guns
Hah A) she's paying and its for a conference for her work. B) even though i play no part in her business i'm still on the paperwork so its quite tax deductible.
I have been to Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) 3 times. The place is awesome.
Crossing the road over there is an experience in itself. There is no break in the traffic (motor bikes). You just have to slowly WALK (- DO NOT RUN!!! ) accross the street and all the bikes go around you. Don't trust traffic lights telling you it is safe to cross, the motorists ignor them!
The ben thanh market is pretty cool.
Legend hotel has a fantastic buffet dinner that is cheap by Aussie standards.
Just walk around a lot, there is lots to see.
The Vietnamese are pretty cool, and they are tiny! My missus is a size 8 and when looking at buying a traditional Vietnamese outfit, she was told that she would take an XL size over there!!! She then refused to buy it on the principle that she did not want to wear an XL
You will get some hilarious photo's from Vietnam, there is crazy **** all over the place..... signs, power/telecommunication wires, people carrying dodgy stuff on motor bikes etc etc.
Watch out for food poisoning though. Take lots of imodium (anti-diareah) tablets with you, you will more than likely need them.
