I recently had to do some digging and was looking through a box of inserts/#'d, etc. It's probably been said a million times over, but before GUs and Autos really took off, card companies put a lot more effort in the design of cards. Remember 96-97 Bowman's Best? Great set. Some sets I like that aren't pricey at all:
99-00 Finest - almost all the insert sets - Team Finest, Producers Refractors, Box Office Draws, Generations (something like that), Leading Indicators (fingerprint one)
97-98 Topps Chrome - not just the base set, but all the insert sets were cool (Destiny, Season's Best, etc.)
97-98 E-X Jambalaya - I thought these were the coolest ever when they came out.

Anyway. There are a ton more, but it was fun reflecting of the "old" days (at least for internet trading). Just thought I would share these recent pickups:

the silky smooth is nice and always liked the design of the hoops high voltage, bringin back the inserts!!!
 
The Big Man On Court is one of my favourites too. I haven't seen the Star Power before (where have I been..) Great cards Jay :thumbsup:
