Hey guys - just interested in a quick opinion regarding the auctions of an SA based seller (tninjat005) who has a number of very nice cards up on eBay. Had been interested in a few of them but suddenly, with just a couple of hours left in the auctions, two bidders have appeared out of nowhere to "battle each other" for almost every card being sold. On the surface I could buy this but in checking the profile for each bidder, it seems in the last 30 days each have combined to ONLY bid on this guys auctions with 95 bids between them.

Just wanted to see if you guys think I'm being paranoid or if the facts back up that this is shilling? I know a couple of guys out of HK that have a bit of a rep for it (less blatant) but have never actually seen an Australian-based seller doing it...pretty average if so.

I think it happens an awful lot on 'feebay'.
With that Century Marks I just bought, there were two guys bidding who had 60% and 48% of their bid total with this seller alone.
Guess if you want the card badly enough that is what you have to put up with, very hard to prove.
Feebay seems to turn a blind eye to this practice, as long as they get their cut they really don't care.

Very obvious shilling.

Report it. But ebay probs wont do anything, cos they want items to sell for lots cos they get more fees

Thanks guys...really appreciate the input.

Well, the Vonleh picked up another bid from a legit seller so I feel very marginally better about grabbing it late...still, hate rewarding such blatantly dishonest behaviour. Frustrating with a 1/1 as well because there's really no second opportunity :(

I saw that, i was bidding on it originally then it just blew up with the shilled bids. And then 2 days later saw it for double what the auction finished at
and if you look through their completed auctions you'll see more and more of it. Nice Kyrie auto that has already sold 3 times!

Made this guy an offer of $60 on a Aaron Gordon gold prizm
Which is what they sell for And was totally gobsmacked When his counteroffer was $130

Obviously doesn't like to sell things at the market value so bids up his items or sits on them
