Once again, the ridiculous "modern captaincy" idea of giving a Top-order batsman
singles, with men spread far and wide, so that you can protect the boundaries and have 2-3 (at best) deliveries at a tailender, has cost a team victory.
Ian Chappell and Richie Benaud are often referred to as old-school captains, maybe Mark Taylor too, for that matter. As someone who has grown up with the game, and as a proud Australian, I am reminded of a Theodore Roosevelt quote, which I believe should be plastered to the door of every cricket captain throughout the world:
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat"
