So I searched, and couldnt find anything, so apologies if this already exists...

But after posting off a "parcel" (was actually a large bubble mailer which was "too thick" as a letter), I was told that "all parcels now include tracking numbers".

Found it interesting, and thought I'd share it with you all. Might be worth noting, instead of sending via registered mail? Unless signature confirmation is required.

Yeah it's a good idea hey! Peace of mind for the buyer AND seller. I did the same as you re: the bubble mailer, it is good with eBay sales too as you can actually see that the parcel has left the Post Office before you indicate "sent".

Good job Scotty :-)

Yep I been onto this for a while wobz, anything classed as a parcel, Eg bigger than the letter box slot, automatically gets registered. Reckon it's a great. But I believe they have canned the " small package" weight restriction and up'd it a bit. Not sure on the details.

these are not registered, they are just traceable, Rregistered post covers an item to the value of $100.

Rey, not any more. my LPO is a business centre and eventhough you can buy a box of Registered Post labels they now carry no insurance. Eventually the Reg Post labels will be fazed out and replaced with Parcel Post - with Signature / Tracking. Tracking is standard, signature is extra.

Thanks Dave,

Now im really annoyed , not only can aus post not do their job properly YES I WORK FOR THEM, But paying extra for registered was a waste of my money...

I currently have 1 missing reg, that doesnt seem to be in their system,

I heard, its happened to me, also had registered delivered to the wrong address and registered placed in the letter box with no signature....WTF. Now I ALWAYS have the post office stamp a lodgement receipt for any registered or parcel post with tracking / signature just in case something disappears in the system that way I have some proof at least it was lodged.
