I am sitting here thinking that the guy who gets to scout in Australia is one lucky bastard compared to the guy who gets to scout Alaska or hell,anywhere in the US

They normally use ex Aussie players like Craig Shipley, I think Jon Deeble was one as well (he's the national team coach now).

We have an academy running on the Gold Coast every year now where all the U18's (I think) show their skills. That's where all the signings come from - it runs at the start of the year, i think even before spring training,
