Aus Post costs to send a card these days

Hey guys,

With Aus Post constantly changing postage prices, Im just doube checking something the lady at the post office told me.

She said a standard small padded envelope with a card (in a toploader) is $1

But I used to send them before for $1.20, BEFORE the price hike.

Was I being over cautious? or is the new amount really meant to be $1.40-$2?

I dont want to underpay, and someone not get their card, but I also dont want to pay $1 extra per delivery for ever and ever if she's correct.

secondly, would a patch card, increase the weight enough to raise it to $2?

I sent one card out today, patch auto in toploader, $2 for the post then $3.80 for the registered part

Now it is $2. $1 is for a letter less than 5mm thickness and less than 50gm. Unless it is a very this card in a thin cheap padded bag with a card saver, it will likely to be thicker than 5mm.
