Because it stops ****wits buying them with no intention of actually going, and then turning around and selling them. When I got my rugby tix it clearly said "It is an offence to resell these tickets, and you risk having them cancelled if you do" or words to that effect.
And i've tried for two days online and on the phone to get tix to the Gabba test. Website constantly busy and phone engaged. Not happy.
I agree with you there...the AFL threatened eBay with legal action if they didn't cancel AFL GF tickets so eBay cancelled what ever they could.......Cricket Australia should do the same !!!
Cricket Australia are to blame for the eBay ticket sales though......why they allowed people to buy 10 tickets each is beyond me !!!
exactly the only reason anyone would really need to buy 10 if you were part of an organised group (eg. cricket clubs) or to resell.
i know people will argue me and 9 mates are going, fair enough but it's interesting that 10 tickets per second were buying sold - so there's a lot of mates around!!

Change # 3
The most significant change to the SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS ticketing system is that ALL ticket holder’s names and dates of birth MUST be supplied at the time of purchase. Therefore, if you are purchasing tickets for friends, you will need to have their name (correctly spelt) plus their date of birth as listed on their relevant photo ID.
So the ticke ID and the Photo ID must match or the ticket is invalid, i'm sure that there would be some sort of allowance for people who suddenly can't make it, but it looks a bit ovbvious if i ring to change the name on 9 tickets.
Unfortunately checking ID's just takes too much time.....I bough and AFL Grand Final ticket of a scalper last year (only way I could get one) that required and ID check and possible signature check.........didn't even get asked for ID !
I don't mind people selling the odd ticket to make a few bucks but when someone is buying 10 and selling 10 they are clearly not fans of the game....just d*ckehead trying to make a profit of the REAL fans.
I bought 4 tickets and was going to sell 2 but didn't end up doing that as my mate missed out on tickets......needless to say - he couldn't get through !
I hope we smash those whinging POMS ! Car'n Aussies
