yeah i got the email as well, just a way for select to maybe scab some $$$ From the collectors they can suck in. i don't have much in terms of cricket just a few elite signatures and i for one wont be touching these as much as i am looking forward to the series.

not a big fan of this sort of thing, maximum profit for minimum work, thats Select. no warney or gilly cards in that box set id be guessing so i'll be giving this a miss for sure. this summer i'll put my hard earned towards some older PC cards im chasing, not this new rubbish which wont hold its value at all. will be interesting to see the design of them and if there are any special cards in there at all.
If they want to make a small, limited set, then release them through boxes/packs at a high end price, with inserts. Much more incentive to buy. Give us something to chase Select...
And at $300, with only 200 sets released, what Select make $60000 minus cost of producing/distributing... I don't know, is that worth their trouble or am I missing something?

well it's gotta hold it's value being the only cricket release for the year.
I hate these sets aswell, but just 200 sets and the ashes theme, it's pretty hard to refuse.

in this case it's probably more got to do with releasing something cricket, not the money, think they'd need to produce something because you can't hold a licence and not use it.
looking at how the cricket season is shaping up, I think select did the right thing by not producing a main cricket series this year,
rather have limited then dumped product.
I hate these sets aswell, but just 200 sets and the ashes theme, it's pretty hard to refuse.

Disappointing release. Why there is no 'normal' release for an Ashes summer is beyond me. Also with a lot of kids coming into the Aus side there would be interest in different cards and players as well.
Like an Australian slip fielder Select have really dropped the ball on this one.
