Hey all,

Had a bit of an idea, if you were struggling to sell a card say for $250 and it was worth that.

Could you raffle it off?

Say $5 per ticket, maybe 55 tickets to pay for express shipping within Aus.

Or, $3 x 90 tickets.

Someone could win themselves a pretty damned sweet card for a fiver or $3.

I know I would purchase a ticket if someone else was holding one.

That way, the seller would get their money instead of constantly having to place the card in a sale thread coming up short.

And someone would land a friggen awesome card on the cheap.

I've noticed selling has become a little slow. Maybe this gfc is catching up with us a little. Also, alot of money thrown around on Fleer retro.

Thoughts anybody? Mods?

Great idea ! Selling on here has been hard for the past 6moths. I can't see the problem, the mods could use the random name and number thing to decide the winner.

I figured because we're not talking big $$$ it might be allowed?

I would've thought this idea would be better than seeing a member have to sell a $250 card for $150 because they need the cash.

Members on here wait till your desperate then low ball ya, so they love the old $250 bargin at a ridiculous $150 hahaha

Yeah I think they're prohibited on here. The idea that you're not selling something pre say, and that people aren't guaranteed something in return. You could have 100 tickets, someone buys 99 and still loses.

You might have better luck doing something like Cherry does, although they never seem to keen to tell people what's in the packs.

i) Raffles, lotteries or games of chance (including mystery lots, super packs, mystery packs or any variation on that theme) or any competitions that require an entry fee are not permitted on OzCardTrader. Any competitions must receive approval from OzCardTrader Admin.

Its because of lottery laws. If you are selling tickets in a raffle you need to have licences from every states gaming authority if it is a National lottery (which it is if you had a raffle here)

From memory another site (which no longer exists) tried running a raffle and got the raffle shut down VERY quickly by the relevant authorities.

If you want to go through all the hoops and applications and get the necessary licences, by all means you can hold it here. Without the correct licences, theres no chance.

That's the reason behind the site rule.

Pretty sure I saw a Mystery pack sell here somewhere Andrew......you sure it's not allowed?

Yeah I noticed those mystery packs for sale. I would've thought that's the exact same thing.

So can anyone do up mystery packs???

What are the rules with those?

Is it in the rules?

No Idea....the link you posted here does not work (Hence why I asked the question):
Please ensure that before you post or agree to a trade on OzCardTrader that you read the site rules pertaining to Buying, Selling & Trading on this website.

OzCardTrader.com.au - FAQ/Site Rules: OzCardTrader Rules & FAQ

As per the guys posts above there is a Mystery Thread somewhere here.....

Excuse my ignorance but can someone point me in the right direction......where are the site rules located now? (I have looked but can't find them)

Thanks in advance.

Tez has changed the title to no longer available on ozcardtrader

Still being advertised in his signature block though.

I can understand why they are banned.......imagine if everyone who wanted to offload their cards threw in a BIG fish to get the bites and ran a Self Made / Mystery pack Sale.........they would pop up everywhere and would be a nightmare for Admin to keep an eye on.

Agreed. Maybe that's something for admin to consider.
