Are these actually a thing?

Yeah, I've held this actual card in hand twice. The first guy that showed me wouldn't tell me where he got it from. I assume feebay.

Its fairly well done looking at it from the front, but looking through the side of the one-touch at the edges, you can see they've used something looking like balsa wood to create the thickness of the card and its quite messy in a few spots.

Not sure where it ever came from and I haven't seen another like it.
Cool custom card, but I'd not part with much cash for it.

I know where this came from.

A guy out of the Phillipines was promoting what was essentially his art and crafts skills by cutting up pieces of old worthless cards and re configuring them to his design. He used facebook to try get a few sales, and a few requests. Last I saw, which was about 12 months ago, he'd done 25-30 different cards.

Ok so the guy who made it, his name is Cheng Sue Veng, aka CSV sports cards and is based out of California now. He openly acknowledged that this card was his handy work.

I couldn't bring myself to harming a Jordan but thanks to the case of Hoops I busted ages ago Jabari was willing to step up to the plate. Before anyone jumps up and down about a Parker RC bust a case of Hoops and find out how many you get ;)
I love the look and I'll definitely play with the concept a bit and get better and use up some of the thousands of triples I have just sitting in boxes

Thanks for the project @KB.

Hey @0401Specialk I was just thinking about these cards the other day which made me think to come back here..

How'd you go? Did you do up any more?

I did knock up a Waiters hoops card as well, looked pretty good but the kids got to it and broke it. The first time I cut a frame out of the balsa which can look a little rough on the outside but the second time I cut sides and glued them into place with the smoothest side facing out. paint them white and they look perfect. I got the sizing of the balsa slightly wrong though, it worked out that when I cut the 2 raisers for the player the width of the 2 raisers were the same width as the sides so you have the final player piece sitting just off flush with the front and I didn't have a one touch big enough to hold it
