Anyone know anything about Marvel cards ?

I'm just starting to get into Marvel trading cards. Could anyone give me a bit of info about them? As I have no idea about them. I know some characters in the series eg, spiderman, wolverine ect but the less popular characters, where do they come into it? Are they just other characters in the cartoons?

The sketch cards are apparently hand drawn, that's so cool. Are they hard to come by ? Do you get them in boxes/ packs? And wouldn't they smudge?

What is the latest series in the collection? Do they have sketch cards in that set? And do they have a base set? Sorry about all the questions.

there is alot of characters in the marvel universe with the more prominent ones being, Spiderman, Ironman, Wolverine, Thor, Hulk, to teams Avengers, X-men, Fantastic Four.
as for less popular characters, Wasp and Antman are 2 that come to mind, but they are significant as they are original members of the Avengers.

I personally collect Silver Surfer of Marvel and Wonder Woman of DC.

The next Marvel set to come out is Marvels Greatest Battles on 17th April.
If you get a Marvel Beginnings set they all have a bit of information about the characters on the back of the card.
Sketch cards are usually one per box. For Greatest battles there will be a 2 card puzzle in every box. Some artists are rarer than others and worth more. Most sets have a base card set, Insert sets, parallel sets, sketch cards and printing plates. Marvel Premier is the most expensive set but are nearly sold out everywhere now, they had sketch card booklets which are pretty cool.
