Don't let him know your too keen on it or you might just find it goes up even more. Has a monopoly on a couple on NRL releases and wont budge....not a fan.
He has his prices and that's that, won't budge for anyone, I used to live about a 5 min drive from his workshop and I've met with him quite a few times in the past, I won't anymore. He's generally a nice guy, but when it comes to selling cards/boxes or watever he has no people skills whatsoever, no concept of the market and what a card is worth. Frustrated the hell out of me on a few occasions so I won't deal with him anymore.
Goodluck, he had a Jordan auto on there for a few yrs graded, made him a solid offer for it and just said no. His reason was that i hadnt bought anything off of him for 3 yrs. Well i wonder why.......
Someone should offer him like $4k on the 1/1 Octo from ATG and see if he'd be willing to negotiate on that one... and if so why none of the others...
What is it with sellers with 'edge' in their username? I posted this on BO a couple of weeks ago -
There's a hilarious seller on ebay - sportyedge.
He buys cards for cheap and then lists them for BIN/BO - and has such ridiculous 'minimums' expected.
He has a National Treasures Rick Barry patch #/5. The first two that were on ebay sold for approx $7 and $14. The next one (he won, outbidding me) for around $20. He has had this card listed for $109 and then $77 for a LONG time. It's always 'on sale' but no matter what, he won't budge below $50. (previously he wouldn't go below $70). I have long since lost interest in the card, but because he was so greedy and ridiculous, he lost a potential buyer. I offered to give him a small profit while paying more than any other have sold or likely will ever sell for. But the guy is dreaming.
He also has a Kevin Love Limited patch #/5 that he recently bought for $15. He has it for $69.97.
Some sellers you cannot get anywhere with, so if you can't afford it/won't pay what they're asking, you've just got to walk away, sometimes laughing. They'll never get what they're asking, you're clearly never gonna get a 'reasonable' price for it - so it's a stalemate.
He's had a couple Okafor printing plates from 06/07 Topps Triple threads since the product has been released. He had one initially at $190, but now has them at $120 a pop which is about 3x the value on that sort of thing based on what have paid for previously.
