Looking at getting some boxes of 98 Select but was wondering if anyone knew if there are anymore Bradman Signatures available or any way of finding out if there were any left. Would love to pull a Bradman sig.
They were meant to only be released in the retail edition of 1998/99 but Wang supposedly has said 5 of the 50 were put in the hobby version - I have never heard this before through any source other than Wang and have not heard first hand of anyone pulling one from a hobby box.
I know Select say they issue strictly in order of receipt (which we know they don't necessarily do), however I think the highest number I have seen redeemed is #43/50, so there would not be many at all still sealed in packs....not to mention the astronomical odds of landing one in a retail box (or a hobby one for that matter!).
I doubt Di at select would tell you how many are still unredeemed.
Wang says "yeah of course there are some left" but I think he just says that to get me to buy a box, thats why I thought I would ask on here and see if anyone knew.
I think there would be a handful still unpulled because there would still be a large amount of unbusted 98-99 retail that Wang would be sitting on - just the odds of landing one are 1:85 boxes or 1:3060 packs......tough pull!
He has loose packs returned from newsagencies that he is selling for $95 per box of 36 packs and has about 7 boxes of those on the shelf and says he has heaps more loose packs out the back of shop. He said that someone pulled a Bradman out of the returned packs a while back but he bought about 60 boxes.

So the guy spent $5700 to pull the Bradman? Wow, what a lucky guy!!
Matty I'm pretty sure Sportscardworld here in Adelaide still have a 98/99 Bradman auto for sale - they are asking around $2750 I think but mate that is better than busting pack after pack in the hope of fluking one.
N.B. As an interesting sidenote I was looking at mine the other night and noticed that nowhere on the redemption card do they refer to it as being an autographed redemption - so it would seem there was some doubt as to whether Bradman would actually sign them. The redemption just says "Congratulations you are entitled to a Sir Donald Bradman 'Bradman card' ", no mention to a signature card...
