Another problem with seller - card not recieved

Hi guys

I won a card way back on December 12. and after a few weeks of not recieving it I sent the seller an email on December 30th asking what was going on

No reply

I then sent a follow up email on 4th Jan asking why he didnt respond, and gave him 48 hours to contact me

He replied a coiple of days later, saying that some of his card were being sent back to him for some reason that he wasnt aware of. I said thats ok, but let me know ASAP what is going on

After 9 days of nothing, I sent him an email on 13th january and told him to forget about it and to refund the original amount to my PayPal

No surprise, I havent heard from him

Now, I am very new to paypal, I only signed up 6 weeks ago. I have seen some people here mention a Paypal claim

Is that my best bet?

Help!!

Yes, claim on paypal as soon as you can. Sellers use Christmas as an excuse but something shouldn't take a month to receive.

I have opened a dispute on PayPal

Seems you have to go through that first before you can make a claim? Unless I am missing something

That is correct. Follow the instructions in the paypal website.

yeah gotta open a dispute first before escalating it to a claim. Pain in the arse eh At least you are one step closer to getting your money back!

You can escalate it to a claim immediately though.

Make sure you do escalate it to a claim immediately so that way you dont waste too much time.

This is the most COMMON excuse I get !

Lodge a claim with PayPal ASAP !

make a claim, don't let the seller get away with. I will also be making a claim in the next couple of days, might actually have to make 2 claims.

I nearly just fell off my chair


The guy has refunded the full amount to me, and emailed me saying the card was returned to him


In PayPal it says the refund is Pending, so I hope it comes through

You should get it in 3-4 working days.

I had the same situation this week and the refund got cleared yesterday...


But you know, I am having a bad feeling in some of the US sellers these days. I feel that if they dont like the prices they get for the auction, they'll still let you pay but wont send the cards. Of course, we will ask where it is and they throw lots of excuses and just refund our payment. Its really a waste of our time. I had at least 4 situations like this in the last couple of months.
