Hey everyone. Some more for the Mikan PC this week; I've only posted the highlights but you can check out my PhotoBucket (link below) to see all my Mikan cards.
Something a little different to begin with; a playing card!
Its from a set that DePaul University released in 1986, in commemoration of the retirement of head coach Ray Meyer two years earlier; Meyer was the coach who recruited Mikan to DePaul and taught him the famed 'Mikan Drill'. This is one of the two cards that features Mikan. Its a PSA 10 as well, which is nice.
An on card Mikan auto, from the 1996 Topps Stars Reprint Autographs.
An unpeeled refractor from the same set
From the 2010-2011 Timeless Treasures set, a game used card with Kareem, #ed to 50. Its my first from this set, which contains 6 Mikan cards (I've got another couple on the way).
As with most of the white or cream coloured jersey pieces of Mikan, its got a silken feel. It has some holes in the material that look like stitch holes, so I wonder what happened there.
And finally as I promised, another Mikan 'cardigan' patch
#ed 2/10, its from the 2009-2010 Timeless Treasures 'All-Decade Materials' set.
Again for the light blue and yellow patch, its a woollen feeling patch.
Cheers Jack; the Kareem/Mikan card is such an aesthetically nice card, such clean lines. Pity its such an odd picture of Mikan, you can barely see his face!
The 'cardigan' patch is very weird; it doesn't have 'layers' of material stitched on top of each other but instead different colours all on a single piece of material. They also look like they are trying to burst out of the card and the feel is identical to a tightly knitted beanie or wool jumper.
Nice, I do like the ol' Topps Stars reprint, I see you nabbed that TT dual (I was looking at) and the NT patch is sweet, if they weren't so expensive I'd have myself one.

I really liked the idea of the Topps Reprint Autos; even better it was executed well too. I was keen to grab the TT Kareem & Mikan because it was the first I'd seen of it. The NT All Decades cards are very nice indeed; I quite like the simple /99 ones as well. Thanks for the nice comments as well Graeme.
Yeah, the difference between 1950s patches and todays patches are quite interesting to see, especially in hand where you can closely inspect them. Thanks for the nice comments
Cardigan, sweater and now rug; the names for the old wool jersey patches never end!
I really like the Topps reprint autos too; they are a nice and simple idea and well executed. Plus it an on card auto, of which Mikan doesn't have many.
There is another couple of them on eBay with BIN prices of $199 and $279; I'd wait until they go to auction, you'll pick them up for half that. I'll be sure to let you know if another comes up for auction or a decent BIN.
