Another lot of fake autos on the bay.

Thats funny, they're all so similar and they even used the same pen. It's as though Bird, D-Rob and Hakeem were all sitting around together sharing the texta.

Is this 'Global Authentication Inc' a dodgy company?

Ahem, no.

GAI are one of the better ones out there, just obviously don't have the same marketing as BGS so not many know about them.

Being in a GAI case, I would believe that the autos are real.

Graham, no problems with GAI....dont know anything about them....i'll admit that.

I've posted 2 photos below.

The one I believe is fake, and one that is a certified auto.

I still believe it's a fake.

Cheers
Matt

How about other signatures ? Are there others out there that look anything like the one in the GAI case.

I've seen plenty of variations of Hill auto's too - some look like a scribble and others look like they've got plenty of letters. Both versions i've seen authenticated by GAI and/or PSA/DNA. Surely there must be an example of D Robs signature that is similar in order for them to decide it is authentic.

The cards are certified as real by fleer, They even have authentic autograph typed on the card.
Chris Paul has 2 different signatures that he uses.

Yep you are correct, Chris Paul does have 2 versions of his auto, much like Stephon Marbury and the guy I collect Steve Nash.

The problem with these Fleer cards that I've posted is that there have been reported fake autos of this particular set, with the cards coming unsigned from the Fleer Auction.

Sure is says that they are signed by the player on the back, much like the fake fleer patch and jersey cards going around where people have used the cards from the fleer auctions, inserted their own (often nice looking) jersey pieces/patches and then tried to sell them.

Regards
Matt

ill put forward my opinion, as i have seen many many autos of all 3 players.

The Robinson is the most obvious fake, its only about 50% accurate, the hakeem is about 60%, and the bird is good but still off, its about 80%. The neatness of hakeems is a dead give away: he is a hasty signer and scribbles his sig failry messily, the robinson is also far too careful. The LBD in bird is good but the other letters are also too careful and dont look right.

Add to this the fact all cards are from teh same seller, all appear to be from teh same pen, and all are fleer products, and youve got an open and shut case of forgery there i reckon.

compare the fake to this hakeem:

i dont care if theyre GAI authenticated (and i know they are one of the usually trustworthy companies), those are so obviously fakes it lowers my opinion of GAI a hell of a lot.

By the looks, GAI have no way of checking to see if they did a grading on the card. No check number at all visible.

ive emailed him mate, asking if he thinks its a fake...

Ive got over 35 drob autos...and NONE look like that...screams fake

So what does everyone think, are they fake ?

Is it possible someone signed them for the players (without GAI knowing) ?

They do look sus to me, especially The Dream's & DR's !

is it possible to open a graded case? If not then it would be absolutely moronic of them not to check the sig.

My understanding is that GAI are the gurus on autographs.
If GAI say its legitimate, then that's good enough for me.
They are on the money when it comes to autographs.
