Had a look at my feedback and had a positive feedback but given a poor rating for Shipping cost and for communication.
WTF???????
When I sell, I send an invoice within 24 hours. I do not bother them until 5 days after auction and they do not send payment. If they ask me a question I answer straight away when I do get it. How does that rate as a 1 or 2 star?
As for shipping costs.......it is stated on the auction page. Australia post fees are expensive. To the US there is a padded envelope ($0.50-1.00) and postage of $4.30. That is $5.30. Then they pay by paypal, so the charge on accepting $5.30 for paypal is about 3% so all up $5.46. So I charge US$5 shipping....that is AU$5.55 so how is that a rating of 1 or 2 stars?
Because people get on their High Horse's for no other reason then, they can! Its easier to be a stuck up prude or whinging rat behind a computer screen!
Oh, and (I know this might be generalisation) it seems to me, from my past experiences, that the Americans seem to have some sort of Bigger Brother or We are Better then you, attitude towards us! Yes Ive had bad dealings with both and a hell of a lot of good dealings with people from all around the world but it just seems in my experience some of our American counterparts can be apain in the ass for the simple fact that they can do it!
Not trying to offend anyone but thats my opinion based on my experiences!

In all seriousness, I do not know if it was an american or some other person, and would not generalise about them. It is more about EBay buyers using such rating without thinking about what it actually costs. And you cannot give someone a bad rating for communication if you do not try to communicate yourself about what you want to say. I do not know if you want to ask me something.......I do not have ESP so if I you need to ask me or tell me something, send me a message first and I will reply promptly!
I have noticed this with my ebay account too, for some reason my star rating on shipping time and communication was 4.6 each even though i send every thing as soon as payment is made and always reply straight away. Im thinking its just dumb asses thinking we should be on ebay every minute of the day to reply to their questions and think postage to the states takes 2 days.
Yeah fair call. Mine was a bit of a vent post of recent activites!
Your not the whinging rat at all, your the one that communicated, your NOT the one that left dodgy ratings for no other reason then the fact it could be done so easily!
I hear ya. I charge $2.50 for shipping and I get gripes from people saying that is too much when I live 12 miles from the nearest post office. I still send them in a bubble mailer and in toploaders w/ sleeves and also delivered with in a week. What more can you ask for? I even had a buyer who had the nerve to tell me in my feedback that they left that it should have only cost me 0.50$ to ship....WTF!! Are you serious. I had to write them a message explaining the cost and to tell them that if they didn't like the cost of shipping, why did they bid?
I definately hear ya. To bad that it is out of our control as far as reasons and opinions behind a low rating.
