I bought a 05/06 Exquisite David Lee RC Noble Nameplates #/25 recently from cardnetwork http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170129170398&sspagename=ADME:B:AAQ:AU:1
and it come the other day loosely packed with a few cornering issues such as chipping and discolouration due to the card moving around in the envelope and holders. So i wrote to the guy to explain my situation:
Hello,
I received the card today thanks, however 2 of the top corners are damaged because the card was loose inside the envelope, and it was not secured and therefore there are two damaged corners. Im not happy with this at all, as the one you described in the auction was in mint condition in a hard case and this is not mint condition. Please contact me to rectify this bitter situation.
Gary
And this is the response i got from him:
First of all, did you pay for insurance?
and second, I package it really secured. and I said it is mint. if you do not want the card, you can mail me back. and I will give you 60% refund as the price you paid because you did not pay for insurance.
Now im not very happy with a 'since i didn't package it properly and you didn't insure it then suck my buttocks' response so i wrote back:
This is a disgrace. You can't just inadequately package a card and in the chance it does get damaged then blame it on me for not getting insurance. Putting the card between two loose thin toploaders is not acceptable, especially for a card i paid $80US for. I won't be just taking it because i didn't buy 'insurance'.
Gary
And this is what he said about that:
you are the only buyer who has problem. and I packed it very nice. and now you mailed me back the card then I can see what is the problem. since last time one guy in Australia tried to steal money from me. and saying the card has damage. I bought this card for $120. and the two thin toploader are given when I bought it. and $80 is very cheap. if you do not want it, mail me back then I will see how much I should give you back. I will not do partial refund. the worse case is I am going to report police office to see. it is due to mailing or not. I did it last time. so it is not funny.
Final response from me:
Well the only way this could have been prevented is if you placed it in a thick enough toploader in the first place before sending it out to me. Saying that $80US is cheap or you bought it for $120US is not a good enough excuse to pack it poorly. Im not trying to rip you off as my feedback is excellent however i do not like spending hard earned money on a card and getting it in such average condition.
Gary
What should i do? Thanks for your time and expertise.
