Awoke this morning to find a parcel sitting on my front stoop from Americia. Great I am thinking........... it was from a store on 5th Avenue New York addressed to a lady at a totally different address in my suburb. OMG I think so I get in the car, take it around to the address and she thanks me for delivering her new gold necklace which she thought would be fine if she just had it send via ordinary post.

WHAT was she thinking and the postie not paying attention to detail............no wonder stuff goes missing.

Mine tried delivering me someone else's package a few months ago. Around the time a pair of shorts I bought never made it to me. Same postie left a box of Classics sitting on my front door step too, needless to say I was rather upset. I had been out all day and especially because I live in a ****ty neighbourhood at the moment where things get stolen.

I thought they left the "you have a parcel waiting" thing, or is that only for P.O boxes?

You would think a gold necklace is worth registered  Good on ya delivering the package though

No, that parcel was really meant for you. You were suppose to melt all those gold and re-cast it into a 1/1 of Gold Standard Plate of OCT Troll of the Year Award.

Damn..... the trolls would have to forgo that prize this year thanks to a honest human being. Good on you champ.

I would have thought being able to identify the right numbers on houses would have been a pre-requisite of the job at Australia Post.

Nice job getting the package to the right person.

Yes I thought being able to read, write and speak English would be a pre-requesite.

I had a card left in our letterbox to go pick up an item from the PO. The problem was that they put the wrong name on the card but the right address.

So I go to the PO and they say, sorry cant help you cause its not your name. After 5 minutes of explaining what I wanted them to do e.g. check to see if a package had arrived with my name on it they went and found that to their surprise there was actually a package with my name on it.

The people in my PO have no idea and no personality to speak of.

Regards
Matt

Yep sure do....

This was the same post office that despite me racing 45 minutes from work and getting there at 4:58pm (on their clock) trying to collect an item. I asked nicely and the door got locked. The answer was we shut at 5.

My post office reverses the "open" sign to "close" at 4.55pm so that they can go home at 5pm.

Where i live we have a little PO as part of the Newsagents and they will let you collect items at any time. Hearing stories from you guys i feel a little blessed.

yep they close at 5 to 5...

I don't want to jynx myself either but my local post office also is great to me. I have a PO with them. They are one of those contracted outlet (you know those small offices which are franchised out to them). When I go there, I sometimes hear the abuse they get about problems with people's parcels. They complain to the guy that they have not received their parcel.....well the contractor really has no idea.

They also complain as to why their parcel is not at that PO to collect.....because if they had read the card it said to go to the parcel centre to collect their parcel not that PO.
