Yeh I saw Tyson mension this in his mailday vid, but did they mention anything about using serve outside of the US?
Because the sites says its only for US residents

don't understand whats going on, why did paypal close the account, whats the group breaks have to do with it (still to watch 2nd video),
Also he contradicts himself by saying his mother inlaws account has nothing to do with it, but towards the end he says he is refunding all the money from the account....

From the vids Ive seen, Paypal limited/suspended his account because he has been receiving payments for group breaks (not allowed on Paypal as its considered gambling)

And yeh I think he is contradicting himself at the end when he says his mother's account is clean when hes been receiving payments for the mystery packs in it

Think those refunds were for the mystery packs as it wasn't totally filled yet.

Didn't host any group breaks on her account, He was using her account for ebay and other sales after his account got shut down.

if he kept his group breaks etc limited to outside of US would it make a difference?
its only really an issue because of the yanks views on gambling right?
from what i gather theyre also just covering their @ss, since anyone from a group break can claim they arent happy with the 'product' (shares in a break) they purchased, and the CC company is stuck with the bill...

At least the good thing for Australian ebay is that the exclusive agreement with paypal was not allowed to go ahead. At least we can ask for payment by bank deposit from an aussie ebayer.

Also if Serve gets too big or takes too much business away from paypal then watch ebay buy it...money talks!

Eeven if ebay wanted to buy it they wouldn't be allowed too as it would restrict competition too much. US is very much the same as us when it comes to that sort of stuff. Paypal has only become this big since ebay took over and made it compulsory for you to have it to buy off ebay.

Yes but they wanted to make it so that paypal was the only payment method you could accept until the ACCC (or something like that) put an end to that idea

Good to see another option being worked out. That money confiscation is a joke.

I think cherry had some trouble previously? That's why they ask for no mention of box break etc in descriptions because it will trigger an account investigation. Though the thing paypal look for mainly is something like the 30 payments received within a short period and of the same amount.

Ok so here is a bit of a run down for all of you. James good idea posting the vids to. Before I start I would like to metion that I have watched both video's.

TysonNZ (the guy in the first video) is possibly the biggest NFL/NBA collector in the States he is an awesome guy and shows nothing but class. He specilizes (sorry I can't spell for ****) in group breaks and a couple of months ago an anonymous person informed paypal that TysonNZ was running group breaks which according to paypal is illegal and considered gambling. There reasoning is that not everyone is guaranteed the same thing (Thus gambling) His account was frozen and he could not accept any more payments. He was still able to refund people's money he just couldnt get any payments.

So he started to use his mother in laws' account as he actually sells/trades cards for a living (preety cool job) and last week this anonymous person calls paypal again and says he is hosting group breaks again. He had not hosted a group break since his account was shut down. They singled out a single $400 payment and said we know your doing group breaks and paypal froze his mother in laws account. Even though he wasnt these mystrey packs where the first randomised thing he had done before his account was shut down. So his life has preety much been screwed over by paypal and Mr anonymous as selling/trading cards is one of his jobs.

Just my 2 cents.

Interesting interpretation by paypal as surely buying boxes must be considered gambling as well because not everyone gets the same from a box, yet they still allow you to buy boxes using paypal.

Yep they are a pack of CBombs like he said. Last year I did a cricket case share and then a hall of fame basketball share, plus I had a heap of ebay sales and OCT sales all running through the same paypal account. I never mentioned this at the time, but during the HOF case share paypal froze my account and all the money in there at the time which was a couple of k due to "ongoing suspicious activity and the possibility of money laundering". I had to provide mutliple copies of identifications, utility bills etc and even after doing this it took multiple emails threatening legal action before they removed the suspension.

As the HOF case was supposed to be shipped at a certain time, I had to, out of good faith, transfer the $1500 from my savings onto my Visa debit to pay dacardworld through paypal (funny that the assholes let me use "my own cash" through paypal but not my supposedly sus cash at the same time). And then Panini pushed the release date back... It was the biggest FARK AROUND ever
