Am going to have to limit my spending on JO cards...

You may have noticed that I have been spending a bit on the pc lately.

Well I have known for about two months that my days of working at my current job were numbered and being part of the Management team I actually had an idea when the final date was going to be, so with that in mind thought should buy whilst I had the income.

The final date announcement was made to all staff today and the date has in fact been brought forward.

So from Nov 19 I join the ranks of the unemployed.

Watching a few nice cards so may be making a couple more nice purchases between now and then.

Have to be honest with you guys:

1 Am not enjoying my current job but have stuck around for one reason
2 Have known something like this was going to happen for the last year but only found out the date recently
3 A nice payout is headed my way which will go towards the mortgage
4 The missus has said there is no hurry for me to find a job just so long as her tea is cooked when I get home plus a lot needs doing around home
5 I intend to spend now but limit that spending later

I thought you would stop spending now and save up just in case, until you get your next job, then start spending again?

Dunno......but that is prolly what I would do.

Hope you get all you need done at home, and get back into another job (one that you enjoy) quickly. They say the longer you wait after a job, the harder it is to get back.

I don't want to be supporting you when you end up on welfare!

Understand what you are saying Ersk but I have always been a person that spends when I have money and am able not to spend when I do not. Plus a sweet pc card appeared on ebay today which I have sought Shawnbradleyfan's help to obtain.

Unsure what I want to do, but looking for a change away from management (too many headaches and too much hassle), even casual temp work will do so if I don't like it then I can just leave

And don't wory about supporting me when I am on welfare as the wife still has a stable good paying job.

Well if you have to lose your job, they sound like so ok circumstances to do it in At least it wasn't unexpected. At least your got our JO addition to motive you back into work

Not good but not all bad either as others have said atleast you know and can atleast start looking around for something now. There's nothing worse than living on the edge of what you can afford (home loan/investments etc) then being given the boot with no warning.

Sounds like you have everything under control though so get some nice JO's while you have the dosh

Great news buddy, huge payout coming if you have been there for more than 5 years. Enjoy the time off, recharge, do the stuff around the house and start looking for the right once you finish as there are a lot of keen employers looking for skilled staff.
