Absolutely no sending in white envelopes under any circumstances. The minimum amount of protection when sending all cards is as follows:
a) Each card to be in a penny sleeve, always.
b) Cards are to be placed in appropriately thick top loaders, secured by tape at the top.
c) Cards to be sent in a bubble mailer.
In the event of sending a large number of cards, where individually placing each card in a top loader is not practical, the cards should be well protected between cardboard/top loaders and posted in a box or bubble mailer.
Postage methods that are NOT approved :
a) Cards in a white envelope, regardless of individual card protection - sending in white envelopes is not to happen and will result in a negative being left for you.
b) Cards sent in a penny sleeves or team bags without any other protection.
c) Careless packing methods, such as sending cards in top loaders without tape/team bag to prevent the card slipping out and being damaged.
d) Cards shipped in snap-tight cases with rounded corners.
e) Any other way you can think of that will cause a card to be damaged.
Other sites do not have rules for these sorts of things, and we have seen far too many cards damaged from poor packing. The white envelopes in particular are a no no - we have it from an Aussie Post employee that these white envelopes go through an automated sorting machine, which explains some of the damage we have seen to cards/top loaders sent in plain envelopes. Bubble mailers do not go through this process, so the chances of damage are far less likely.
By agreeing to this deal, both parties agree that they have read and understand the rules regarding packaging. Poor packaging will result in having your membership of OzCardTrader revoked.
To Admin: cards still not recieved, been over a month, both of us are from Melbourne so the cards should have arrived quick smart.
I'm not putting the blame on good_old_bball he is a well respected member of the boards. It could well be a Aust Post fault but still I thought I should let Admin/Moderators know whats happening.
Let me know if anything needs to be done on my behalf.
let me state Monday as an example. this is the story:
Monday: alex_mkd2000 made payment and assumed I sent the cards considering i told him they'll be out more than likely on the same day as payment received.
Tuesday: I still hadnt had a chance to post the cards out
Wednesday: contatced by alex_mkd2000 and I was told he hadnt received the cards yet. I still hadnt posted cards so i knew yeh he was right he wouldnt have receivd them yet cos i still had them. So i contacted him back and told him that he will receive them soon this week, i didnt mention i hadnt sent them yet.
Thursday: I posted the cards
Friday: I messaged alex_mkd2000 and asked him if he got them cos I knew it wouldve been either today or Monday he weouldve received them. He messaged abck and stuck to his story that he hadnt received the cards yet. SO i thought maybe they were delayed so surely Monday he will get them.
Saturday & Sunday: Weekends - No update
Monday: I messaged him again to confirm if he received them, he replies and says no he didnt.
so thats what happened. I shouldve told him from the start that i hadnt posted out his cards yet so he wouldve then known when to better expect them. My labels are packaged and labelled so well that theres no chance of an address misplacement or error in the address. Its been like 3 weeks now and he is saying he still hasnt got them. Now what?? i dont know. but yeh thats the deal here with this transaciton.
Like I said Steve, I never but the blame on you, you said you sent the cards and I believe you. But yer I still haven't recieved anything. Could be a Aust Post fault or could be something else.
I don't know what the procedure is on OCT with these type of situations, if Admin/Moderator can reply that would be great.
i cant see what Admin can say in a reply to will fix anything mate. Do you expect them to compensate you? They have nothing to do with our deal, but they know all about it. I just Pm'ed you with info stating the best i can do to help ya would be to contact aussie post and see if they can shed any light on the matter, and if they compensate me i'll give you the money back. Besides that, admin hands are somewhat tied in this situation, so i dont see why you keep requesting for admin to post in this thread, theres no point.
Hello Steve
Graham (Admin) told me to post an update in this thread so that an Admin/Moderator can take a look at it. I haven't heard anything back yet and that's why im asking for them to reply or contact me, not for any other reason.
