After a few months of complaining about a sore right ankle, and a week of intense pain, I decided to get it checked out...

Went to Doc yesty, he wanted X-Rays and gave me a referral back to the Specialist I saw, who did a reconstruction on my left ankle...

He checked out the Rays, gave my foot a wobble, and looked up... his words "I don't need to tell you do I...."

Yep, back under the knife I go...

I spose it's a good thing I called it quits on BBall last month huh.

Oh well, life goes on. Just a pain in the arse, well ankle, cos I'll be out for 10 weeks......

Just wanted to share with y'all

EDIT:
Pretty gross (well not really), but check out what I've done:

Left: Tore/Snapped the ligament there, and broken bone off on the inside of ankle.

Right: The gap that you can see is not meat to be like that....

bad luck mavs, i've rolled my ankle plenty of times and know how painful it is but never 2 that extent

Gee that's a pity right there, your future was looking ever so bright and now you have more ankle surgury! I wonder what this will do to the career. Will that be the end for Scotty Harris? Will Mark Cuban have sights on trading his liability away after recovery?

Seriously though, all the best on a speedy recovery

Geezzz thats a bitch mate..i know how you feel i recently (a few months) fractured my left ankle had a 3inch fracture...and it was pain full as..all the best mate and a speedy recovery!!!

Matty & Brad, I could always go to Orlando, I hear they like keeping dodgey-ankled people on for long contracts..... but I'll opt out in the final year after about $80M....

Thanks guys, nothing too dramatistic. Been there, done that.

Just means time off work, and time to get bored... Good chance to loose weight tho, it'll help get me motivated.

Just an update.

Had some issues with my Private Health not covering me, after I downgraded my cover level just 2 months ago, and not being able to change back, and being told I could be up for about $3,000...

Spoke to Private Health last night (in person, not over the phone) and they basically allowed me to change back as though I'd never changed down, as long as I back-paid the difference.

It was $90 or up to $3,000. No points to who guesses which way I went.

So now I'm covered, and stress free. I tell ya, being told I didnt have to come up with the money like that was one hell of a relief.

I go back to the Doc next Wednesday to decide a date of of the op. Pretty exciting, well knowing I'll be pain free in a few months.

Work's now trying to get me to come back to work extra early and "just sit" at my desk.

Yep, I can tell ya I'm gonna wanna do that while I've got 8 weeks worth of sick leave up my sleeve. I'll be having a nice chat with the Doc about that.

Anyways, been told it's only 2 nights in the Hospital. So that's a relief I hardly slept last time I was in there, and when I did I was woken by two dud nurses wanting to change my drop over at 3am....

Out of curiosity...Does your Medibank policy cover the removal of a second head?

Quite the contrary... they give you more head....

Have you heard the one about the bloke in the Hospital, and the trainee nurse is walking the hall with a senior nurse...

The trainee looks into a room and sees this bloke going at it full force....

"Strange" she said...

The next room she sees another bloking laying back getting blow'd by a young attractive nurse...

She looks to the senior nurse and asked "what's the deal here, that last room there's a guy tossin' himself off, and this room there's a guy getting his johnson pollished like a kid on a candy cane"....

The senior nurse looks back and answers "this one's in Private Health"....

Anyways, it'll give me a chance to get some of my cards scanned up!!
I'll just have to work out how I'm going to get my arse up and down the stairs....

Sympathy from my direction, Scotty. I got my stitches out from my knee yesterday, and I'm still limping. But its amazing how much you get done on computers, cards and study. Physio ain't so fun (or cheap), though!

Well guys, the date is set, 23rd August. I was hoping for the 1st, but they were too booked out.

Unless they get a cancellation, I'm in on the 23rd August. Sucks, cos it's a Thursday, and they said 2 nights stay.....

Looks like perhaps 4 weeks off work. For that, I'm not going back early. Fark em!

I've got plenty of sick leave, and I might as well use it!
