Hi

I havent collected AFL cards since i was a kid in the 90's

I have been looking at getting some AFL cards in 2009 but i dont know if
AFL cards have progressed that much.

Can anyone tell me if they have patch cards with jersey or games used cards

To me they look like there still the same market as the cards cost the same when i bought them a as kid 3 or 4 dollars a packet.

So is there any AFL cards for higher end market what look better than 1990's
cards if not i wont be buying any AFL cards soon

I'll get some scans up of a few auto's I have and they have come a long way since the 90's. I haven't seen any patch cards but you can get memorabilia cards.

There's a few members on here that have memorabilia cards that could show you but I only have auto's and some of the 80's sets.

hi

So they have progressed a bit but come on

like out of 600 autos and 300 autos numbered i think for me there not that rare to have auto cards which i don't like about them

Would be good if they made them more limited and special like had the autos limited to under 100 only of them

That Cyril Rioli card is only a gold #/400 the platinum cards are #/100.

Considering last years product sold out you would still have trouble finding most of those cards. They're extremely tough to come by now.

Hi

well i found a few boxes of 2008 being sold but there are quite a few different
varties which is the best AFL boxes out there

I wouldn't have a clue which one is higher end AFL boxes and whcih ones are cheaper

Well for me personally i like autos cards to be more limited make them worth more than having a auto card that 600 other people have as well

They had patch cards back in 04 i think, about then. Also signed patch cards (guernsey cards).

Alot more sigs nowdays. There are captain sigs which are limited to either 50 or 60 which are very rare and expensive. Most redmeptions nowdays are limited to 100.

Honestly, i think the inserts from the 90's are much better then what we get now!!!!

its hard for people who collect nba and afl. because select cant just coppy those sort of things, gu's patches, they will get critisised.

As has been said rookie auto's are numbered a bit higher but all other auto's are very limited and you will see on ebay how crazy the prices are.

Of coarse they can copy it!! Go with what works and what ppl want!! even since the one year of game used Guernsey ppl have been crying for them back!!!

Lack of variety is whats keeping the new collectors from picking up the cards.

Unfortunately Last year was a sellout i guess , so select wont have much interest in changing too much!!

What people want or what BBall collectors want

i mean im hapy with the series... sure its getting a bit repititive but im sure this year things will change after 2 seasons of foils sigs and sketches.

Hi

Hey mate have you got a picture of 09 AFL box or cards be interested to see if they made any design changes.

I hope they would make like autos across the board limited to 100 or less no matter if there rookie cards or anything.

It will make the signature cards worth more than just toilet paper when there is 300 of them or 600 of them.

I know you're saying there is some limited ones with signatures but keep all signatures cards limited to make them worth more

Would be good to see game used or manufactured patches or something different to make them appealing

maybe an MCG game used goal post card!! Or game used football, lol i dunno.

Nah, i only heard this 09 news today, havent seen any design pics yet, i would say the promotion cards will only be a few weeks off.

not entirely sure that Select or anyone have details of the 09 releases. Best contact www.cardzone.com.au. Im sure Steve could help.

well feel free to provide some sort of source details etc. Im sure there would be more then just 3 different inserts in the box.

Thats the only details i have seen/read/heard. Will post more if i hear anything else.
