hey guys would like your opinions on this.

with draft pick signatures, when they are individually numberd (like ?/400)
what do u think is the best number u can get on the back?

1. draft number eg. daniel rich was drafted at number 7, so 007/400

2. jersey number there jersey number on the back of there jumpers

3. last one-400 400/400

4. first 1- 1 001/400

5. un-numberd eg. has no gold number on the back at all

i would say 001/400 would be best but im pretty sure select dont put them in packs so it is just about impossible to get. so next i would say jersey number.

could you please put in order (1-5 like above^...1 being best) the one u think would be the best to the one that would be least best out of those 5.

also if u think if there would be any better numbers (on the back of a card)
please share that as well

i would love your opinions
thanks
:D:thumbsup:

what do u think a #5 stephen hill DPS would be worth?

hi mate
it is a low number but its not a special number (like a jersey number)

so maybe a little more than the normal price:v:

bump bump :)

no there is no 001's in packs because select are greedy and keep them for themselves

I also saw a previous post and a guy reckons if u get the Guernsey Number of that player or the Pick number you multiply it (the average price) by 1.5 and you have the b\value. It sounds like pretty good advice

If u multiply the average price by 1.5 you get $1263

I'd think u would have to multiply it by 2 cos its a capt sig

i voted for guernsey number but just remember, players can change guernsey numbers. i wouldnt risk paying premium price for a guernsey numbered card myself. look at danyle pearce for example. he was #16 when he won the NAB rising star award, then Tredrea quit the captains roll and wanted his old #16 back after having #1 as captain. now he's #6 i think. imagine paying top dollar for the 07 Supreme signature 016/100 of pearce only for this to happen.
interesting isnt it.

My opinion;

Gotta be guernsey # - generally adds 50% or more to the value

#01 (or #02 in Selects case) follows closely behind, can add up to 50% of normal value for those ones

Un-numbered next, I reckon these would fetch almost as much as the #02s as they are very rare - only issued to the signing player I've heard.

The last # - not quite the attraction of the lowest number it seems, but still tend to get higher prices - maybe add another 15-25%ish

And finally, Draft Pick # - unless it's a low number it wont get much more than average, Position in the Draft is of little significance to most, too many good players come from after the first round for it to make it and edearing feature. Plus if you wanted to collect Draft Pick numbers you would never get the number one's.

My two cents.

But remember - it's all rendered moot if you have no interested buyers.

agree that all those numbers,
will demand greater attention!

My pick would be guernsey numbered.
Have seen a few which have demanded a greater price ... but at then end of the day its only a number really? It is a very cool thing especially if it is showing on the front of the card, but if it is on the back of the card not as phased really, but still collectors love them and of course will demand great attention!!! I wouldn't say no to a #9 Benny Cuz brownlow sig instead of my #89 lol!

But the whole multiply the av price X 1.5 sounds a little like BS.
Just what buyers/collectors/fans are willing to pay at the time! (which is usually alot more)

i dont understand why select keep the number 1 card. If anything i reckon the number 2 card should be the number 1 card if that makes sense.

Can anyone shed light on why select keep the number one card? and why they advertise 400 signed when really only customers can get 399 of them?

Only about 385 Make the packs, so they do keep a few for replacments..

As said earlier, i wouldnt pay extra for their number as it can change! Like with Danyle Pearce!!

I don't think changing a number would really affect it that much, as they have still worn the number for that season or part of their career in which they got their own signature card (eg - Judd wearing number 3 for when he won the brownlow and got a brownlow sig)

So with Pearce, he would have worn that number for his rising star days,
but i guess it is just personal prefference and the buyers market in the end.
