Recently I have decided to collect Fortnite trading cards. They are pretty hard to get here in Australia. I came across a seller on ebay from IA, United States. He has over 100 cards from one of the series that I am collecting at what appears to be decent prices. Just wondering if anyone has ever brought anything from America and if you could give me some advice on buying from America, that would be appreciated.
One of the best things you can do is set up a @ShipMyCards account so you can have all your purchases shipped to a holding facility in the US (cuts down a lot of shipping costs to Australia) and then you can consolidate your cards and ship them as one to Australia or in part shipments.
There is a thread on it here which you should read through.
We already partner with many collectors and would love to assist many more.

Outside of that you could contact some shops like Diggaz cards here in Sydney as im certain they have stock of these cards? There are also a number of shows around Australia where there are a few non sports sellers as well.
Yeah what @Matt26 said - SO EASY buying lots and having them sent to @ShipMyCards - I think it's like $6 for a box of cards - collate everything there then ship back whenever ready with FedEx or whoever you want depending on shipping budget. I even send the COMC lots there and then send everything back as one lot once I'm ready.

I second the COMC recommendation. I use it for everything I need from America. The wait is usually a little longer but I am always willing to do that given COMC protect buyers and sellers equally, it's great.

Just to add to what the other lad said, basically it's a marketplace for cards. If you buy from multiple sellers, you will need to wait for the cards to all reach COMC and then they send them all to you.
Ok, so I've been sifting through all the information thus far. This is what I've come up with:
1. Need to create an account with ShipMyCards (No sign up fees or anything)
2. Need to add store credit with ShipMyCards (Not sure how to do this just yet. A little more reading to do)
3. If I buy from someone on ebay, have cards shipped to the Oregon address. (No taxes I think)
4. Be patient and wait for cards to be uploaded to inventory
5. Not real clear on import charges (I think if it's over $1000, I will be charged. Maybe declare a much lower value)
6. Also, not real clear on insurance and how much I should insure for. (Maybe insure cards for actual value)
7. Not real sure on postage cost either. (Currently looking at buying around 60 cards. Could very well double to 100-120)
8. Use Fed Ex
9. From the ebay seller, cards cost around $600 (AUD). Shipping is at around $220 (AUD). GST is at around $80 (AUD). (This is for approximately 60 cards). That's shipping to my actual address.
