I have a job interview for the Northern Territory Police in Brisbane (long story) on July 6,
I have to be at the Medina Executive Brisbane in Fortitude Valley @ 10:00am and was wondering how long it would take me to get from the airport to the hotel.
Is there a train, or would i be best with a taxi?
My wife is trying to get me to fly up the day before, but I was thinking if I fly out of Sydney around 6-6:30 i'd land in Brisbane 7:30-8am that should give me plenty of time to get there.
Also is there anything to do in the area, will have a bit of time to kill after the interview before i fly out again.
From the airport to Fortitude Valley should be around 20mins (maybe 30-40 if there's traffic, which there might be at that time).
A cab would be the go I reckon which should be about $35-$40
There is a train from the airport that would also suit. I'm not great with public transport so unsure where it drops you off in the city. I think it costs about $10-$15 from the airport.
If you hang around the Valley for the day, there's plenty of great spots to have a beer and people watch.
Or if you go for a bit of a walk up to the Story Bridge for a cracking view of the Brisbane river from the cliffs that was about 10m higher last year.
You could always walk from the Valley in to the city (15-20mins) and across to South bank.
It depends if you enjoy a beer or not.
Brissy does'nt have any must see landmarks really. But plenty of nice places to kick back in the winter sun.
That time of the morning you should be fine to get into the Valley by 10. Just trying to think where the Medina is? You'll love the Valley if you love getting hassled for change by bums.
Head up into the city (short cab or train) and have a walk up the mall. Treasury Casino at the top of the mall or a short walk across to South Bank.
If you want a guided tour, hit me up closer to the time and depending on work I should be good to show you some sites of Brisbane.
