not sure if you need and ABN unless you have a turnover in excess of $50000 per annum

I'm not sure, I never read anything like that when I looked into getting an ABN myself. What I do know is that it seems you need an ABN to access wholesale distributors for the most part, which I presume is so not every one gets access to cheaper product.

when distributors sell to you they add GST, if you want to claim back the Gst you paid in you tax return you have to have a ABN number, if you dont wish to claim the GST back and you earn under $50,000 pa then you are not obligated to have one. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong

Yeah its only classified as a hobby for me at the moment, I would lose money big time if I opened a shop at this stage just to be approved by panini, miss good old upper deck days.

Okay yeh that sounds reasonable.
My comment about sales was cause I've been trying to look into how much certain things would cost to me to set up my own shop but I can't get wholesale prices on anything without an ABN. The wholesale distributors require one to see their pricing.

I would think to set up shop now it would have to based around a lot more than Panini. Which is rough. You'd probably have to look into more than trading cards I would think. Kind of wish I'd established one years ago lol.

that's the wholesalers way of saying " your'e only a small player, we don't want to know you until your'e prepared to spend the big $$$" without getting a lawsuit slapped on their ass. ABN's are actually easy and cheap to get....its all the bull.... you have to do later to keep the ATO happy

Date is semi set for my new stall at Pooraka Produce Market, Sunday on 24/4/11. Understand its easter but bring the family, come down and get some packs, singles or even a box.

Nice work mate - might pop in to see what you've got on offer. Where is it exactly? Tried to look at the map / address but still isn't exactly clear... Needless to say I don't venture up north very often!

Dwayne its on Diagonal Road, Pooraka just off Main North Road, Pooraka. Opens just before 8am and finishes closes just before 2pm. I have also created a facebook page called Paparazzi Cards and Collectables.

all the best with it mate, i've only collected AFL so if you venture that way in the future might see me down there, to be honest not much else in Adelaide or even SA for card collectors that I know of, only a couple of what I now know to be over priced shops in town......

Hi Brett,
A Sell Sheet is a flyer or a brocher put out before the set comes out which gives you info about the set.
I collect all Sell Sheets except American Basketball,Baseball,Gridiron or Ice Hockey.
