Hey guys,

I've been a member on ebay and oct for just over a year now & have been buying and selling cards on ebay.

I must confess, i only use a computer/internet for my card collection & i am not the most computer literate fella in this forum that is for sure.
Anyway I sold a card two days ago for $9.99 (nothnig unusual) I then get a email from the buyer saying that they will pay for the card next wednesday if it's alright & then they might buy more cards which did not sell at that time.
I then replied saying no worries & left it at that.
Also I noticed strange looking email pop up which was flashing. i did not dare touch it as it looked dodgy.I closed my email & logged on at a later date & it had disapeared.

Today I have recieved an email warning from ebay saying that a 'phisher' is trying to get my details to use my ebay account.
Thus being the name of the ebay dealer. & another flashing email appeared which i did not touch.

Has anyone had this happen to them of late & any advice?
I will name the seller if that is the right thing to do?

So they bought something then emailed you to your email address not through ebay?

I don't know what you mean by the email was flashing.

Was the ebay 'phishing' message through ebay or to your personal email?

I have never had this just trying to work through it

Get a software program called malwarebytes, you can Google it. This will get rid of all that stuff for you, if you need to pay for it, I would recommend it as it will keep your puter a bit safer. I think I pay like 30.00 for 3 months or something. Then they send you specials for signing up for longer for much less and they take paypal. I found that it was very useful at finding and removing things that other software didn't or couldn't and has 100% coverage for your travels. This is not anti virus, but that email you have is rubbish and will keep sending you more stuff until you root that bug out.

I think some screen shots here will help us understand what you are actually dealing with. We can start with the following questions:

1) Where did you receive the email from this buyer? your ebay messages? your personal email account?
2) If it is your personal email, did you click on anything suspicious?
3) This email warning about your account being phished. What email address did it come from?

I have all my ebay messages come through to my yahoo acct.
The email from the buyer came through to my yahoo account.
The email from ebay warning me of the phisher came through to my yahoo acct also.
I have noticed the buyer has been removed from ebay. and he hasnt tried to contact me again.
And yes i still have the flashing email. its not flashing in my scroll lost of emails its above on the toolbar whereas you
can shuffle through multiple emails.i havent clicked on anything to bring it up, it just sits there flashing every time i access my email.

Can you do a print screen for us? Sounds like some form of mal/spyware has infected your PC. Does it happen only on yahoo emails, or other websites?

First things first, get us that print screen, and we'll try and help you from there.

Yeah once you press the Prt Scr (or Print Screen) button, you'll need to paste it into something (say Paint), then upload the image.

When you press the Print Screen key, you won't notice anything, but know that Windows will copy it to the Clipboard ready for pasting.

I believe you can press Alt+ Prt Scr to just copy the active window, that way we won't see how many porn websites you have open... =D> jk.
