Hi everyone,

I received a huge card today for my PC that is a really positive story, about one collector helping out the other. There have been so many negative stories of late on here that this is worth a read.

The card I received today was posted on eBay for sale 2 weeks ago and I contacted the seller and we agreed on a price. I sent the money straight away and being late night US time didn't expect a response till the morning. I was really excited about it, despite it costing me an arm and a leg.

I woke up the next morning and hadn't heard anything from the seller and in the meantime I had a chat with a really cool guy and friend of mine David (thenashcollector - one of the new Mods on HK) who has THE best Steve Nash collection around. During our conversation I found out that David had also spoken with the seller and agreed on a price to buy the exact same card, the same card I had paid for the night before.

I contacted the seller to find out what was going on and within a few minutes I had received a full refund and a BS excuse from the seller saying that they had since sold the card to someone else!

Honestly, I was gutted.

I went from owning the card, to watching it being sold to a friend who I knew would keep the card in their PC (albeit a very impressive PC). I thought my chance of owning it was gone forever!

So David and I were chatting about the situation at length and out of the blue he offered to sell me the card for what I was going to pay for it. He told me that despite this being below what he paid for it, he was happy to see it going to a fellow Nash fan.

He is a legend! :worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy::worthy:

He didn't have to sell it to me and in some ways I wouldn't have blamed him for wanting to keep it. I did make a deal with him that firstly if I ever sold it it would go back to him and secondly that I would do whatever I could to help him chase down the one card he was chasing for his Nash PC.

I wont tell you the card he is chasing, or how that chase is going, but I will try and get him to come on and tell the second part of this story.;)

Finally, after going through more highs and lows than a jet plane, the card arrived today!

It really does show that there are still a few good guys out there!

ENJOY!

That is one amazing story and a total turnaround from what we've been reading lately, I could just imagine the fury inside when you found out that the seller sold it onto someone else.

this site needs a group hug emoticon after reading this.

Congratulations and this just shows how good the hobby can be.:hearts:

so awesome. love the story, but i clicked show first and couldn't concentrate too well
seriously the heart of people we have in this hobby never ceases to amaze me

Super duper card Matt and a wonderful read to go with it! Great to hear a feel good story among the doom and gloom of late.

I love the card, I really do - but why can't Panini match the logoman from (obviously) a purple jersey with a pic of Nash on the card wearing a purple jersey also instead of orange? Minor detail but it can't be too hard can it???

Awesome story, been waiting to see it since you dangled it on twitter. The other collector sounds like a really awesome guy!
