A HUGE mailday (part 2 - the significance part)

I'm pretty much done and dusted with ebay, but still might B/S/T on the forums.

I wanted to get one last 'big' card before I was done, and I most certainly did. The most expensive single card I have ever bought.....

I have wanted one of these for a long time. I didn't necessarily mind the condition as long as the centering was good. It's not superb, but it's bearable...

And this is significant to me because when you think about it, this card is 50 years old. 50 years! They wouldn't have had toploaders or magnetics or anything back then, so to be in such good condition after 50 years is amazing.

Here he is...

No chance of Beckett ruining/damaging this one...

Congratulations mate. I grew up lovin Big Wilt. And not cos of his basketball career, i thought he was the man on the Conan movie haha. Well done you rich guy I'm jealous.

I'm not rich... in fact I've kinda screwed my finances with this one. Bad timing with Christmas and the Mrs quitting her job and everything... interest here I come!

Congrats mate thats a HUGE pick up. Beautiful card with such a high grade considering its age.
Heard that PSA are more experienced in grading older/vintage cards... is that true? (plus they look better in their slabs)

One of the best maildays I've ever seen.

An iconic card from an iconic set. It's a great card to own regardless of condition, so it being a PSA 8 with pretty good centering makes it outstanding. If this is the last thing you get, you've gone out with quite a bang.

Those old school cards are all about grading - and that one is a beauty - wouldn't be too many better ones around than that! Unfortunately ebay is a necessary evil sometimes!
