Last week I posted a mailday that contained a signed HOF ball and I was waiting to receive another that I purchased that same week, well it has arrived as well as a piece I purchased over a month ago but I'm not sure you would call it a piece of basketball memorabilia.

I'll start with the ball and I'll try to keep it short and sweet but it's hard for a stalker like myself to do so.

The seller of this ball, Oren who lives in Winter Garden, FL was involved in a little accident with Patrick Ewing who was living in Windemere, FL at the time. Oren's wife was also in the car pregnant with their now 4 year old son, Oren has told me that Ewing was extremely nice about the whole situation and covered all costs, Oren also had this basketball sent to him from Ewing's Lawyer who happens to live in Cresskill, New Jersey.

I was now confused because New Jersey and Florida are miles apart but after some detective work I come across an old news article from 1999. This article takes you to Englewood Cliffs, NJ where the home of Patrick Ewing was ransacked of more than $300,000 in property, his Lawyer was and is located in Cresskill, NJ which is only 10 minutes away from Englewood, NJ so this cleared up the whole New Jersey thing and why the ball was sent to Oren from NJ.

After speaking with Oren over the phone It was clear that he was telling the truth, how many people would go to these lengths as well as give out all their personal details to make a couple of hundred dollars? especially someone that lives in Winter Garden. He also sent me the address and details of his Lawyer and other physical evidence to keep me happy.

Now this next piece is something you'll never see again and if it wasn't for Matt/Shawnbradleyfan this wouldn't be in my collection so a big THANK YOU goes out to our saviour.=D>

I'll let the pictures do the talking because I've done enough for now, thanks for looking and reading if you made it that far and your feedback is always appreciated.:v:

Not sure about it being the best collection out there, there's a Ewing collector featured in this months Beckett in the super collector's section from the States, there's one that I know of in France that I would love to talk to but have never had the opportunity to do and Ki/Unga from Tassie who has some sweet Ewing's in his PC also. I'll join you in tosting SBF for being our saviour but only your collection of Pips for being awesome, thanks for the comments mate.

the story behind the ball sounds very much like Patrick Ewing - honest, sincere and overall a decent guy away from basketball. I'm not at all surprised by that.
