I have been given the opportunity to buy a Precious Metal Gem green version of Derrick Coleman, but they are asking $135 US for it. Do you think this is a fair price? Given the exchange rate I will end up paying almost $290 NZ for it.

Does anybody have any idea on what the card might be worth? Has anybody bought a green gem before? If so of who and what did you pay?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts!!

They do go for a premium but at that price for a Coleman is probably high. The problem is will you get another opportunity to see another one pop up for sale??? ;)

If you really want it for your collection, you should not worry about the cost.

I don't think it's a fair price.They go for between 65-100us for common players and 120+ for semi-stars.

Well put Gemini! Hit the nail on the head.

Sure it may be pricey but you might not have the chance to get one again... Probably one of the best DC cards available!

Good luck!

I lost out on a Longley @$88usd a while back

It really depends on how much you want this card. It may be the only one you ever see again :(

Also check the condition and see if there is significant chipping - you may want to hold off on it

I guess it all depends on what you are prepared to pay. Only a die hard Coleman collector is going to pay anything like that much, so in essence you decide what it is worth. So it all comes down to how bad you want it. If you can afford it (without going into debt or missing a rent payment) and you REALY want it, go for it that's what being a player collector is all about

I was sent a photo of it and the condition of it wasn't that great. It has several chips out of it, thats why I am abit undecided on whether I should by it or not.

Mate.. pretty sure these cards are "condition sensitive" & hence most will have some chipping....... I'd say it'd be pretty rare to find some without chipping.

with cards like these it is not about the price, it is whether you will ever get another chance to pick one up!!.

i have 2 green and 2 red sprewell's , 1 of the green's is graded sgc 88, which i think is very good for this set, from memory paid about $400AUS, the other green is in not so good condition and would grade a bgs 7-8 with a bit of edge chipping, which most of these cards have............the 2 reds i have are similar to the ungraded green.

these are the only 4 i have seen of spree's in about 4-5 years, so when you see one you should buy.

in my opinion the price is ok, but it really depends if the condition is really bad.:v:
