I'm at a loss. Brad probably knows. I think the average condition he refers to is the case their in. Double check his description. $5 each is a good buy but like you I would like to know just what he is talking about. Ron
your right, its the super rare case thats in average condition, lol @ super rare case. i just brought them, why not, its a pretty good price i reckon. and i find the numbering out of 120 intriguing. can brad or someone help me with what these are exactly? i'll search my futera file tonight. their clearly not first day issue ones as theres no stamp on the front, so regular or actate. but arnt these all still ment to be numbered out of 1000 with the first 100 being FDI or something like that?

Good buy in any case i think. Both regular and FDI are #3500. FDI stamped in top r/h corner "First Day Issue".
Let's know what they are when you get them. BRAD might add something.
It is a good buy even if they were found to be #3500.
Super good luck if they are a rarity, well done.
I have RM1+6 out of FDI and RM2 out of Regular to finish this series
With the Acetates I only have RM5+6 lAW + BEVAN in FDI and RM3 TAYLOR in regular acetate.
From memory there was a problem with the acetates and most of the acetate range was botched during the production process
and therefore not distributed well.
I have a spare each of the BEVAN and LAW FDI acetates if anyone wants to make an offer.
or if anyone has my outstanding items please PM me.
They are definitely the acetate version, the generic case they come in seems to have a plaque in the middle of it - my guess is the cards are unnumbered and the plaque says 38/120.
I don't know anything about the /120 release, be interested to see a close up of the plaque and also if the cards are numbered.
Either way great buying Daz, $30 is a bargain whichever way you look at it!
brad was spot on here guys, un-numbered cards with the case having 38/120. i would post pics but i still havent got a new battery for the camera. they are all the actate version unnumbered. does anyone think that the case really has something to do with the cards or do you guys think its just a random case this guy has found to put this set of 6 into. are the unnumbered actate run machines much different in value to all the others. and werent the actates only given to dealers/wholesalers who brought a case or something, not available in packs, think thats what it said in my futera file, and yes russell, there was some sort of production problem with these.
finally found my Futera file. "Run Machine acetates were produces but due to excessive scratching on the surface of the cards, as a result of the individual numbering, the majority of the acetates were withdrawn from insertion in packs. One run machine acetate card was available from Futera for every 5 boxes ordered by card dealers from Futera at the time of release of the product." Reference = The Futera File.
Yeah good score Daz, reckon i paid $100 for my 6 unnumbered acetates from Card Zone about 10 years ago, think they are still about the same price, so you did well.
There are also numbered acetates to track down too, only got mine a year or two ago through ebay i reckon. Paid about the same.
Can't help you with any more info on the plaque as to whether that was a home made job or an under the table Futera set release to suppliers.
Sick pick up! I would have paid close to that just to get the Punter for the PC! I have the regular numbered, regular unnumbered, FDI numbered, and numbered acetate, so think I just need the unnumbered acetate for the Punter RM mini set lol
just solved the puzzle with my purchase from Matt.
Frontier Marketing prepared 120 un-numbered and framed acetate cards with the frame bearing the number of the release.
The time of the release on my letter is July 1997.
Along with it came a letter and a Certificate of Authenticity, a copy of each attached to this post.
Another mystery solved
