Well I've finally got my hands on a Montana Auto, as well as a couple of his teammates from the series, 2001 Greats of the Game

Now for a Jerry Rice!

Very nice, esp the Joe ! He's the only 49er I've ever collected and still do, although not very actively - Although Ronnie Lott was a monster too.

Hope I'm not thread jacking, but you might like this story. I was lucky enough to meet Montana (for about a whole 20 seconds) and get his auto when he came to Melb many moons ago to open the All Star Cafe at Crown Casino. A group of us were waiting to see him when he left, but he went straight to the car. On a hunch I raced across to road to the Old Casino site where the hotel still was and the car he was in pulled up at the door and I was able to corner him. Nice guy, I thanked him for all the great games etc as he'd just retired I think, and he signed this card and another that I sent off to another fan.
Not the best of Auto's as I didn't have a good marker, but it's held up well over the years and this card holds a pretty special place in my collection... even if he is a Niner

That's really nice, Joe Montana is a legend even if one doesn't follow the 49ers.
