Hey all,

Just got home from the canberra toy and hobby fair where I picked up a parallel version of the burgess 4 brothers card from the ja ja collectibles stand It's numbered to 100 (pb1 to pb100). He said that "significant numbered" cards are being auctioned off in a few weeks while he's charging a flat $125 for all others. Managed to get mine for $120 and get him to let me have number 6. Anyway just thought I'd post this since I hadn't seen anything anything else about these cards. Thoughts?

Yeah I didn't know they existed either till he showed me. Card looks very nice in hand, photos don't really show the parallel effect very well with dark colours.

Seemed to be 1-5 though he did specifically mention number 4. No mention of jersey numbers. #6 was the lowest I could convince him to sell me.

My understanding is that these have been done as a promotion in conjunction with APCS shows and Jaja's collectibles and will only be available at APCS shows around Australia.

So if you want one get out support the hobby and get to a APCS show!

Next show Brisbane - May 4 Brisbane Table Tennis Centre.

Im also of the understanding that only x amount will be sold at each show so that happens.

I don't think many people have an issue with this being done, the only problem I have is no-one knew about them prior to the show.

This may have been an incentive for people to go and grab one and spend some time at the show supporting many of the sellers.

Only other thought is with the Canberra players there as a selling point to get people there, would this card have sold better if it were sold at a Sydney based show?

Who knows?

In terms of only x amount will be sold at each show, he seemed to have an awful lot of them there. They weren't advertised or anything and he only brought them up at all after we'd been talking for a while, but he seemed to have all of them there. Pile was pretty big. Also seemed like I may have been the first person he'd sold to since he offered me whichever number I wanted outside of numbers sub 5.

I think ESP delivered them to Rif personally at the show so that may explain that.

If I'd known they existed beforehand I would have picked a couple up for peeps on the boards here but this was legitimately the end of my cash for the day when he brought them up and I couldn't afford another without losing the YG I needed for my 2013 set.

What a great initiative by Rif!

He places a great deal of his time and effort for these card shows, so I am extremely glad that he is allowed to sell off these parallel to true collectors at various card shows.

I would be first inline to complain and say 'why these aren't in packs' and so on, but this way it promotes APCS card shows across Oz and creates more interest for the hobby, well done!
