2X hobby boxes of 2022 Topps Archives

That's right. Absolutely nothing.( I'll post the pictures soon but I opened one box last night and was reminded of how bad the auto content is).

It's really to difficult to hit a modern player auto. And the checklist is chockers with very average names. Should be more like $120 per box. Not $200. Should've taken two boxes of Trilogy for that money.

Hitting Chipper Jones /50 from a monster box was good

Not sure what I was thinking. The odds of hitting a BWJ are tiny.

I busted 5 or 6 boxes of 2019 Archives and did not get one modern auto. The only one that had value was a Montreal Expos player that was /10. I got $60 AUD for that. The rest were all between $3-$5. I won't be busting Archives again just like I'll never bust Heritage again. It might be a little cheaper but you have a 75% of hitting a $2 relic and you get 1 or maybe 2 non base hits.

I have done a box of Archives the past 3 years and each hobby box has been fucking tragic.

This year i hit two rookies. Will Brennan (Sold quick) and Michael Massey (pretty good player, but hobby poor). Got a Seager orange /15 so that was ok for the rest.

The Monster boxes with a lunchbox and an auto was heaps better. Chipper /50 and second box was a dud Shawn Green.

2022 Archives was meh. Jose Canseco /150 auto and a Dick fucking Hall.

Rollie Fingers should be banned from signing. Bloke is in every product. $2 on card autos are terrible.

Deitmers probably the best ‘hit’ with possible upside. Did get two BWJ but both damaged.

Cherry’s packing left a lot to be desired. I always get the box rather than satchel but the 2 boxes were just put in a cardboard box with one single piece of bubble wrap on top - effectively nothing.

I just looked at comc and the Rollie Fingers isn't on there. The reason is that it wouldn't sell for more than $1.

The Beer was $4, the Rowand $5 and the Jenkins $4. Miserable.

Box toppers were ok, lol.

Anyway, enough of Archives. I got suckered in by 2018 Archives which paid for itself and some.

P.S. My one and only sealed case investment just shed another 25% representing an overall loss of 50% since purchasing 14 months ago. Good old 2021-22 S2. Released at $160 and now at $52. They printed tons of this and you can bet that they haven't eased off since.

I'm hoping to put 75% of my hobby dollars into singles from here on. The $400 I pissed away on Archives gets you a Bedard YG right now.

They have in the past. Fedex Australia. And threatened to send the packages back from whence they came if I didn't stump up $200 ASAP.

I forgot to specify that that was for grading subs and not comc packages. Probably should have made that clearer.

I'm starting to feel sick. The $400 spent on Archives is the cause. That was an insane impulse buy.

I mean really ill. I was thinking about the 22-23 SPA which have Slafkovski. SPA is only the two autos, though. Everything else is worthless fillers. However, the 4 autos from SPA probably get you one that may be ok and you get $100-$150 back from $460 in. If you hit the right name you do well.

Archives has such a low ceiling. The best hit will be the Chipper Draft picks numbered card. From previous experience I will have to send the card in to comc as those just don't sell over here. The base version sold for $25USD when I looked at 130 point and there's one base version on comc for $50. The black is numbered to /99 and should be a $50USD card. Pleasant surprise. I didn't think anything of it when I hit it.

They should discontinue Archives and guarantee two autos in Heritage. Heritage in some ways is even worse than Archives.

I did get a box of 23-24 Trilogy on pre-sell today. Smartest wax purchase for some time. It's a no brainer going that over Synergy at the same price. Spewing I didn't pre-sell SPA at $320AUD. More than double that now.
