So all this gamer updates etc, had gotten me on the band-train too (yeah I know, sounds corny, but so's riding a Wagon....)

Anyways...

Playing: NBA 2K7
Format: Xbox 360
Season: 28 Games, Association
Games: 5 min qtrs (sim'd @ 10 mins)
Level: Pro (2nd lowest)
Team: Dallas Mavericks (duh)

In the first Pre-Season trade, the Mavs mix it up with the Bobcats and the Suns.

Sending Austin Croshere, Devan George & Maurice Ager to the Bobcats, in return for Primoz Brezec.

The Suns parted ways with Jalen Rose (Bobcats) and Raja Bell (Mavs) to acquire the Shooting Star Rookie, Adam Morrison from the Bobcats.

In another trade, the Mavs were quick to move the newly acquired C Primoz Brezec, as they shipped him off to the Raptors along with PG Anthony Johnson with SG Jerry Stackhouse .
The Raptors parted with TJ Ford & Joey Graham (Chicago Bulls) & #1 Draft Pick Andreas Bargnani & Darrick Martin (Mavs) in return the Bulls packed up SG Ben Gordon and sent him out West to the city of Dallas, Texas.

The Mavs didnt stop there, with another startling trade, this time involving the New Jersey Nets & the Indiana Pacers.

The Mavs picked up Al Harrington from the Pacers, and Marcus Williams from the Nets, as they sent Greg Buckner (Nets) & Jason Terry to the Pacers.

The Pacers also added Nenad Krstic & Shawne Williams, while the Nets added Scot Pollard & Danny Granger from the Pacers.

With their Roster complete, the Mavs looked to the FA list for 2 more Fillers, acquiring Nick Van Exel for a 1yr deal @ $400K, and after attempting to sign Latrell Sprewell for 4 years @ $400K and pissing him off, the Mavs looked to the SF position, and pulled Keith Van Horn out of Semi-Retirement for a 4yr Deal @ $1.52M/year.

Now set to take on the 06-07 NBA Regular Season, the Mavs opened Game-Night hosting the Sacramento Kings.

In what started out as a shooting contest, soon blew open, as Mike Bibby started to get hot, scoring back to back baskets, and giving the Kings an early lead of 15-14 after the 1st.

The Mavs knew they had to contain Bibby, and hold back on the Steal-Attempts from Devin Harris, as Bibby was quietened to 5 points in the 2nd. While Bibby was contained it became Ronnie Artests' job to put the points on the board, as he continued to work hard down low, dunking on Josh Howard 3 times before the end of the half, putting the Kings ahead by 2, 30-28.

At Half Time, some changes were made, as Al Harrington joined the lineup as the Mavs' man in the middle, along with Dirk, Bargnani, Bell & Harris.

In the 3rd things looked different as the Mavs became more consistent with their shots, and defensive awareness, but still, it wasnt enough to get the lead, closing out the 3rd down by 3, 44-41.

In the 4th, things became interesting, Dirk hits back to back triples, followed by a Raja Bell 3, then a missed shot by Artest, gave Dirk another chance for a 3, as he took it, and gave the Mavs a desperately needed Leadd by 2 with 50.3 seconds to go.

Scores go back and forth, then the Mavs up by 1 with 10.2 seconds to go.

Dirk fouls Vitali Potapenko and sends him to the Line, only to make both FTs giving the Kins a 1 points Lead.

7.3 on the clock, as Dirk begins to work, he drives the land around a top-key screen from Dampier, and slams it in for a hard 2.

Double turn-over as Bell gets the steal while stepping out of bounds gives the ball back to the Kings with 5.8 on the clock... the Mavs still lead by 1....

They inbound... clock ticks down, Kevin Martin is WIDE-OPEN on the right-wing, but Bibby doesnt see him as he dishes inside to Reef-Abdur, only to have it kicked back out to the top as Martin rolls across the top of the arc, to a spot up trey with 0.8 seconds on the clock as he releases.....

It drops....

The Mavs go down by 2 at home...

0-1

Just played first game against the Spurs. Duncan had a strong dunk that put them up 52-50, then Dirk hit the Buzzer Beater to tie it up.

Won in OT 62-56.

Duncan had double double, as did Parker.

Dirk had 20 & 6.
