To be honest only about 40 percent of the book is dedicated to the NBA, and 60 to his upbringing and college. But there are some interesting stuff.

  1. He thought he was going to be drafted by the Clippers which is why he wore the infamous red suit in 1994 draft

  2. He says the 3 keys to winning an NBA Championship in order: Fate, Coaching, Talent. "The most overlooked factor that goes into NBA life is fate"

  3. He says Larry Brown had a hard-on against him when he was on the Pacers and all of the players hated Brown. Brown: "Chris Webber and Juwan Howard are up here, Ray Jackson and Jimmy King are down here. Your in the middle. And I decide where you get to go"

  4. On being teammates with Mahamad Abdul-Rauf on the Nuggets, said he had an issue with the whole national anthem thing. "At the time he was driving a yellow lamborghini with no qualms. If he was enjoying the spoils of the NBA life in a free society, how does the national anthem offend him all of a sudden?" Also said that he was crazy talented though.

  5. He made plenty of trips to CVS to get condoms for Mutombo

  6. One of his worst purchases with NBA money? a Vertu phone

  7. He says Larry Bird is the reason anybody even remembers his NBA career.

  8. Says that if Rick Carlisle had taken over Bird immediately after he retired he thinks that the 2nd half of his career would have been a lot more productive.

  9. His opinion on 3 best coaches: Phil Jackson, Gregg Popovich, Pat Riley "So what's more important, the superstar player or the superstar coach? To me it's the coach"

  10. He really hates Larry Brown. "The guy coached 18 straight seasons in the NBA for 6 different teams not once taking a year off. First off, if you're a player with that kind of record, your not a hall of famer your a journeyman."

  11. On the other hand, he really loves Larry Bird. Says only NBA coach he would run through a wall for.

  12. He implies that he injured Kobe on purpose in game 2 of 2000 NBA finals.

  13. The goal for every NBA player besides superstars such as Kobe/LeBron? "To become a veteran". "Ask Greg Oden what he'd give to be a veteran instead of a guy who didn't make it in the NBA after a promising college career."

  14. Time on Bulls. He used to give Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry 500 dollars for every double-double they got. Gave per diem to league minimum/10 day guys

  15. Explains NBA drug testing. You get tested once in training camp and it's not hard to get around. For marijuana you just get a warning at first.

  16. Biggest lesson to "champaigning and campaigning" is to never run your mouth about it

  17. After a night partying in September 2002 in LA his rented Bentley got carjacked and the car got shot 9 times. His friend got shot in the neck and lived, and one of the bullets missed his head by 3 inches.

  18. During his career he knew he wanted to get into TV and modeled after Jayson Williams (before he got in trouble). His 2nd half of his career he said his TV career after NBA was over was equal to being a player.

  19. He stole Patrick Ewing's TV in the airport terminal one time.

  20. If anyone remembers Jay Williams saying the NBA players were high during games on the Bulls, Rose denies this. He says the players smoked but never during games. He says Jay Williams and Jamal Crawford clashed a lot.

  21. On the Raptors he liked Kevin O'Neil as a coach.

  22. Vince Carter is the 2nd most talented player to ever play on the same team as him besides Chris Webber according to him.

  23. Says VC bodyslammed Sam Mitchell before he got traded.

  24. Says Worldwide Wes is who brokered the deal that got him traded to the Knicks.

  25. Without question he says, Knicks was most dysfunctional NBA team he played on. Says the roster was full of guys just playing for money and partying.

  26. Says he wishes he had signed with Miami instead of Phoenix his last year.

  27. Says Dominique Wilkins was a huge partier low key.

  28. Says literally nobody showed up to Jimmy Walker's (dad) funeral
