Not really a topic for here , but felt like a whinge .Does anyone on the site have kids or relatives playing in the State Oztag tournament in Coffs Harbour at the end of the month?
Both my kids are playing , my daughters age is in Sydney, and my sons team is playing in Coffs . Apparently there’s a few thousand people that attend the same weekend every year .
I understand supply and demand and hotels and air bnb need to make money , but the price gouge for a kids sporting event is insane.
Cheapest accommodation we could get was $3300 for 3 nights . Most were going for $5000+.
I’d understand if it was for a Horse Racing carnival or a Motorsport event , but a kids sports carnival is insane .
I know a few boys in my sons team that are better players than some going , but just can’t afford it .
That’s my whinge for the day
