I get what your saying but retailers have more of an idea of who the collectors are than select ever will, we used to see case shares everywhere from this site to Facebook groups and always under RRP But the people who run them like myself have been cut back so much it’s not possible anymore and the reason we have been cut back is because select wanted to sell more through website, I haven’t done a case share for 2 years now, if I could get more stock I would do it again but not possible at the moment the way it’s changedIn my view it did work. Just because one buyer broke rules doesn't mean it wasn't a success.
You're missing the point that all stock was on offer to purchase. No favouritism to this breaker, retailer etc.

Side track, but curious about retailers who take orders for master sets. Have you come across anyone who does this for team sets on a particular release? What’s wrong with that they are a business, I also run a business and didn’t sell any boxes I opened everything I had, make more money selling singles than selling boxes at RRP And some businesses have orders for master sets to complete, and everyone has been cut back because select wanted to sell more through there website, it’s proven selling more through there website doesn’t work and I’m glad select are handing back control to the wholesale side
I haven’t personally but I know of a couple of retailers that make a master set for a buyer it’s getting near on impossible to do now though, but there would be buyers that would chase a team master set and like to just buy the lot from 1 personSide track, but curious about retailers who take orders for master sets. Never really had a positive experience with a retailer. But would save a lot of f**king around on Ebay if there was someone reputable and ethical who did this
Don't get me wrong, I love the chase. But other priorities mean I don't always have the time. Especially with 3, or 4 or even 5 releases a year. When it was 2, that was fine. But the way Select is operating now, something like this is almost becoming a necessity for team collectors
Cheers mate. Can you PM me the details of anyone you know who might be interested in doing this?I haven’t personally but I know of a couple of retailers that make a master set for a buyer it’s getting near on impossible to do now though, but there would be buyers that would chase a team master set and like to just buy the lot from 1 person
Pretty easy you get your mum, dad, uncle, Aunty, friends, and the neighbours dog to buy boxes if you have enough helpers you could get heapsStill seeing breakers list Prestige box breaks with large volume. Makes you wonder how so much of it got in their hands especially given the way it was sold.
100% agree with long term brick n' mortar card stores should be looked after first, before online new comers.I heard one or two may have been securing stock from Select directly and also at wholesale. The system is a mess.
I was told that Select only used JHL as their wholesale distributor but it appears they have been selling behind the scenes to individuals/businesses for years. Why did they feel the need to advertise who their "authorised retailers" were? Just because they're not authorised any more, is it naive to think they won't continue supplying their favourites behind the scenes?
What happens to the ex authorised retailers who don't have an account with JHL? It will be interesting to see the allocation numbers for series 2.
I've always purchased from the card shop, not at wholesale. I was around for a few years before there was a lot of money to be made. It's disappointing to keep getting cut back, particularly when relative newcomers appear to be gifted large amounts of stock from Select.
Master sets have become too expensive when purchasing mainly on the secondary market. It's disappointing when long term card shops can only get a similar allocation to non bricks and mortar resellers who are lucky enough to have wholesale accounts without the overheads. I'd like to see priority allocations to long standing shops, followed by long standing resellers and finally new entrants who arrived for the money. That is if the wholesale model continues.
The online only needs safeguards to stop tech wizards with bots and multiple contacts scooping up large amounts of stock. I don't think it's a level playing field, some will benefit, others miss out and the trader network will break up to a degree.
Finally the distribution needs sorting out. No one should be selling before release day. All states should have a chance of having stock on release day and express post should be an option.
Couldn’t agree more, shop fronts should get priority followed by online sellers who have been around for years, new comers should have to wait it took me years to get a wholesale account had to build a reputation and relationships, just because you might have just started a business shouldn’t gaurantee anything you need to build your reputation IMOI heard one or two may have been securing stock from Select directly and also at wholesale. It's amazing, and doesn't look like stoppingOne month after my last post, Facebook breakers are still pumping out Prestige breaks 2/3 boxes at a time.
Where are the secret tunnels, they go to deal for these boxes...
Ebay still has 9 listings for 26 boxes.
Not the case mate. If you’re in most of the groups on fb you’ll know a Jack Steele lover so every possibility he has a fewIve been looking for a Jack Steele Marquee from this series
