Mate, I know you're an Eagles fan and therefore interested only in players' careers with West Coast, but surely you can't doubt the credentials of Malaxos or Todd to be in the set? They are both Greats of the Game, in my opinion. Especially Todd. I couldn't say the same for Langdon or Evans. Wirrpanda would be borderline for me.I couldn't agree more. I was hoping for a P.Matera, D.Kemp, J.Worsfold, C.Lewis, K.Langdon, T.Evans, D.Wirrpanda
Nup.
We get Ash Hansen. Yeah he was good in the 06 GF but he only played 78 games of footy for the club.
John Todd. He was so poor as the Eagles Head Coach in 89 we couldn't get him out the door quick enough.
Ross Glendinning. Sure he was our first captain but only played two seasons and was more a champion at North.
Steven Malaxos. Yep a total of 75 games of AFL.
At 140.00 a box with this kind of selection....
He is one of 15 official legends of WA football. Also a member of the Australian Football Hall of Fame.John Todd probably wasn't the greatest for West Coast but looking at his Wiki page he is a great of WA footy. He won a Sandover medal and was All Aust, and coached a total of 721 games.

Yep, would have been nice for Eagles collectors to have a legitimate Eagles hero who played all their senior footy for the club, but I would have thought two former captains and two former coaches wasn't a bad start (* Malthouse is featured as a Pies coach, though).
As for Hansen, he was the one I was referring to as a "club servant" in an earlier post. Not my cuppa tea, but (as a few people have said in this thread) each to their own.
I'll probably chase the Todd, Walker, Malaxos, Glendinning, Jimmy Melbourne and Peake cards. Might even pick up Hansen and Zanotti on the cheap
Yeah, not all players are those I would have picked, but at least there are a few things here for me to be excited about. And gee I would love to pull a d*** Reynolds sig card, just for the rarity!

I will be busting a couple of cases - come to me for your singles
No argument that the Todd cards won't sell for a fortune. Was only arguing whether he was a Great of the Game because you bagged him on the basis of two years at West Coast.
Malaxos, yep, at $140 a box, he won't be chased by many, either. Completely agree with that. But we disagree on whether he's a great. Yep, there are better credentialled WAFL players, but that doesn't mean he's not a great. It really depends on where you set your threshold for being a "great". After all, Barry Hall is a Hall of Famer... and we all know there are better footballers than him who are not in the HoF. Ugh.
Glendinning? I suppose it depends on whether he's in an Eagles jumper or a North jumper on the card... (or an East Perth jumper, for that matter). His two seasons for the Eagles were pretty decent. I wouldn't be disappointed if I was an Eagles collector. Evans and Langdon would disappoint me as "greats".

I think it's unfair to speculate on the total dollar amounts. Everybody has a right to make a living (legally) and using the highest return is amateurish.

Yes, there is the business aspect to cards. Companies need to turn a profit to stay in business. And if anyone feels the need to concentrate on $$$, youre better off playing tattslotto.
Personally, l look at the chase concept and the quality of the product. The fact only certain retailers will stock this product adds to the Value.
No team shares means back to the good old days of collecting. hunting for what you want!
l will start with 2 cases.
Might start a chase share if there is enough interest.
